My Mom Could Have Been QB For The 85 Bears
By coreyb
That's a quote from Lynn Dickey talking about the Quarterback position and how it's Over-Rated at Packer Fan Fest. Some great stuff in here on Aaron Rodgers, Terry Bradshaw, expectations for the Packer defense, the 1996 Packer defense & Fritz Shurmur, "Big Brain-damaged Texan Forrest Gregg" and basically telling it like it is.

If I have said it once, I have probably said it a 100 times.. the QB position is important, but honestly over-rated in the big picture..

Thanks Lynn for confirming what I have thought for years. Forrest Gregg was brain dead.
RUN FORREST RUN!!!

That was such a great watch. Lynn Dickey is about as common sense as they come and spot on with his points. I love what he said about Bradshaw. Bradshaw is an idiot. In fact, if I were Howie Long I'd change networks because he is the only one on that show with half a brain. I saw Bradshaw a few years ago at Disney World and he was a total dick. Do you have any more Lynn Dickey???

Enjoyed the these two videos, as well as the others from Fan Fest. Good perspective from the alumni and current guys. Thanks for recording and posting this for those who could not attend. Would like to have seen the five members of "point a minute" offense in a group discussion on that and this era. It was one of the few times they have been together at one event. Missed opportunity for the regular media.

Just to be a contrarian:
Everyone points to Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer. But those weren't just elite defenses, they were EPIC.
Let's look at the last 15 SB QBs:
Steve Young
Troy Aikman (best season 23TD-14INT= OVERRATED!)
Brett Favre
John Elway
John Elway
Kurt Warner
Trent Dilfer
Tom Brady
Brad Johnson
Tom Brady
Tom Brady
Ben Roethlisberger
Peyton Manning
Eli Manning
Ben Roethlisberger
But your thread title stands.

Why is this guy not on one of the sports talking head shows? Easy, low key, accessable delivery. Dry wit. Good reactions. Reasonable, common sense approach balances sharp opinions. Nice counterpoint to hyper personalities like Bradshaw. Camera likes him. Hey Fox, CBS, WTMJ, looking for talent rather than just a ring wearer, it might be here.

"lynn dickey shouldnt talk...he was worthless....if we had favre we wouldve been way better...he motivates everyone to do better....rodgers takes the easy passes...favre to dangerous ones and that wat helped us win and lose....but its kinda like money....it takes money to make money....so it takes dangerous throws sometimes to win....take chances..like u do in life...rodgers always takes the easy way out and it bothers me...how many times have u seen him over throw wide open ppl? alot! and i was so pissed about....hell i couldve qb'd the 08 gb packers"

The quality of the video presence was surprising. That the elements came together so well was unexpected. Bret Favre doing this short of thing you might expect. New talent! :>)
As for the above, a "point-a-minute" offense is hardly worthless unless the defense fails to do its job.
