ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Seattle Seahawks have reached agreement on a contract with free agent guard Chester Pitts.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Pitts has spent his entire NFL career with the Houston Texans, who selected him in the second-round in the 2002 NFL Draft. The 31-year old Pitts is coming off a knee injury that ended his 2009 season, as well as his streak of 114 consecutive starts.

Pitts visited the Seahawks in March, but was unable to pass a physical. The 6-4, 308-pound Pitts recently received medical clearance to return to the field, and worked out for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts last week in Arizona.

Pitts visited the Buffalo Bills on Monday.

While Pitts was rehabbing his surgically-repaired knee, the Seahawks signed guard Ben Hamilton, who is locked in as a the starting left guard/on-field line coach for left tackle Russell Okung, the sixth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and long-term replacement for future Hall of Famer Walter Jones.

Hamilton's one-year deal is worth over $2 million dollars.

2009 second-round pick Max Unger is scheduled to start at right guard, with restricted free agent Chris Spencer, a first-round pick in 2005, penciled in at center.

Spencer has battled injuries throughout his career, and if he were to be injured again, Unger would be the likely replacement. Hamilton, who turns 33 in August, has also had injury issues in the past (missed the entire 2007 season)

While the Seahawks do not have a clear starting opportunity to offer Pitts at this time, he gives the Seahawks' veteran depth along the interior of the offensive line, and could be another on-field line coach for Gibbs and the Seahawks.
