Packers trade Dontayvion Wicks to the Eagles
By PackerAaron

The Packers’ wide receiver room is undergoing a shakeup, with Dontayvion Wicks headed to to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-rounder, while Wicks is set to receive a one-year, $12.5 million extension.
From a roster-building standpoint, the Packers are turning a young, productive player into future draft capital while maintaining financial flexibility. The Packers clear $2.6 million in cap space and now sit comfortably under the cap, with additional picks to continue fueling a roster built through the draft.
Wicks leaves behind a solid résumé in Green Bay, hauling in 108 receptions for 1,328 yards and 11 touchdowns across three seasons. His Thanksgiving performance against Detroit stands out as a defining moment, showcasing his ability to deliver in clutch situations.
But the bigger story is what this means for the offense moving forward. With Romeo Doubs also gone, opportunities abound. Christian Watson and Jayden Reed headline the group, while 2025 draft pick Matthew Golden and second-year receiver Savion Williams are primed for expanded roles.

Read this an hour ago. Great job by Gutey getting us 2 picks. Next years mock drafts are going to be fun, I might not have to trade back for a change. Honestly though, GB is really set up to make a killing in the 2027 draft. We should be able to upgrade everywhere we want to and fill all holes. Some vets are going to be losing jobs next year.
Wow Gutey getting 2 picks for Wicks and a 4th for Gary when he was going to get cut is some marvelous work. He might get that statue yet.
The extention the Eagles gave Wicks shows we would not have re-signed him in 2027. $12.5 million, good for him. He can be replaced by either of the practice squad guys, but I think we will draft a WR too now. #153 gets us in the range of Stribling or Malachi Fields if we want a WR that early. With a later pick I do like Jeff Caldwell-Cinncinnati alot though. 6'5 215 4.31 40 and 1.48 10 yard split. Reminds me a lot of Watson when he came out but is probably a late 5th or 6th round pick.
I don't think we are done moving players, Luke Musgrave could be next. Maybe a trade with the Giants for their DT Dexter Lawrence would mean Wyatt becomes expendable. How about a Wyatt for Lawrence trade, straight up? Wicks and Wyatt's salaries would almost offset Lawrence too. This off-season could get very interesting.

Grabbing Lawrence would be a steal.

Love the optimism....Damn!!
That's a real Packer fan in my book.
Guter is doing marvelous work....Executive of the Year perhaps?
Statue, YES!!👍
I love you man 😁♥

Lets see, what else can we do....
Move more players?
Yes, we could move some more of 'our' mistakes...
The 13th overall pick of the 2023 draft.
Get rid of the Packers 2nd pick of the 2023 draft.
That would leave us with 3 players from that draft of 13 players in 2023, after 3 seasons.
Or as we call it, draft and develop.
Not to worry Packer faithful, we might be killing it in the '27 draft and fill all the holes on the roster in one draft.
In Guter We Trust.
It's coming.
I hope the rest of the NFL considers themselves.....put on notice.
Now.....if only, we can get a victory in the wild card round, we might just have something.
Thumbs up '61, keep the faith
