I just want to share something as our season starts. I'm sure I have stated on here before about my brother but one last time I wanna share something with my fellow packers fans. My little brother was a huge Packers fan. Even though we live in WV he was a Packer because I was a Packer. Born in 1995 he grew up with Favre . We spent many Sundays together marveling at how good he was and also onto Rodgers and much of the same later on. My brother was terminally ill. He had Cystic Fibrosis. In 2008 Make a wish brought us to the greatest place on Earth Lambeau Field to meet ...Brett. Make a wish is the most amazing organization. We walked into the locker room and there next to Brett's locker was a nametag with Smith on it my little brothers name. A #1 jersey that said Smith was also hanging there. We got a personal tour of the field even walking out into the endzone. We did the Lambeau leap (took several attempts). We stood where all the greats played. We then went to a practice and met Favre. He was amazingly nice and even gave Wyatt his practice jersey which is now framed. We got to go eat lunch with all the players. Met Ahman Nick Barnett ,and Aj Hawk sat down right next to us and ate. It was a wish come true type of trip. One that I will cherish the rest of my life because Make A Wish and The Green Bay Packers made it happen. Many of my memories of my brother involve the pack. He made it 11 more years after that trip and passed away in March of this year. He was 23. As this season starts I am reminded how lucky I am to get to watch our guys. How lucky I am to get to do anything. It will be a hard season to watch for sure but nothing will ever keep me from seeing every snap of GBP Football that I can. Nothing will keep me from doing what me and my brother loved. I hope all of you enjoy this season, and spend it with the ones love. God Bless you all and Go Pack Go!
