Gut Reactions: Packers beat Vikings

Aaron's gut reactions from the Week 2 game against the Vikings

  • 2-0 to start the season? I know it was hard to watch after the first quarter, but a win is a win is a win.
  • Aaron Rodgers looked lethal in the first quarter and mortal through much of the rest. That said, he had two absolutely incredible deep throws that went incomplete, one to Adams and one to MVS.
  • What a rollercoaster of a game.
  • Dean Lowry had a nice game.
  • Lane Taylor did not.
  • Last week we saw Graham try to block Mack. This week we got to see him try to block Hunter. My god. Enough.
  • The Smith Brothers were excellent setting the edge on the outside stuff the Vikings like all game long. No surprise that Cook's big run and most of his big gains came between the tackles.
  • Jaire. Buddy. Just knock the ball down.
  • This defense can actually play the quarterback boot and I'm almost crying at how beautiful it is.
  • What a mess on offense. Rodgers taking the playclock down to 0:01 every time and then holding the football forever. It's like McCarthy never left.
  • Davante was on fire early. Will be interested to hear why LaFleur and Rodgers went away from him.
  • Gary not playing more than Fackrell is sub-optimal.
  • Trevor Davis had a day to forget.
  • It's time for Elgton Jenkins to start.
  • Loved using Williams and Jones together in the backfield on the opening drive. Wish they'd use it more.
  • Second down to Davante to pretty much salt it away was beautiful.
  • As was JK Scott's nine second punt.
  • Packers are in 1st place.
  • Go Pack Go.

Agree with almost everything Nagler said, except that as I watched it I thought the variation (of time left on the clock) when the ball was snapped to Rodgers, varied more than it used to. Not perfect, but I saw an improvement.

Also, although Davis never had a great game, I give him full credit for managing to hold on to a punt after being smashed as he fielded it. Sure he should have called fair catch, but props for not dropping it.

Agree, AR was snapping the ball at 9 seconds, 8,7,6 pretty much all the way down to one. The snap time was all over the place, although it did indeed roll to one a few times.

I saw an interesting stat that the Queens ran 67 plays from scrimmage and 63 of them totaled 210 yards for 3.75 yards per play. The other 4 plays totaled 211 yards and averaged 53 yards per play. The Packers played very solid on 94% of their defensive snaps but the other 6% nearly took GB down.

Did the offense give up a 75 yard rushing TD? Did the offense give up a 57 yard pass TD? The offense did have some issues after a fast start but the way this game ended was not all on them.

Wtf did the offense do after the first minute of the second quarter? Have short drives and keep the def on the field is all they did. KK picked the ball off in the end zone and the offense gives it right back 1 minute later and the def still held up. Please the def won this game.

Many deficiencies need to be improved on both sides of the ball.

I am grateful they are 2-0. As soon as AR had a lead all of his bad habits came to the surface.

I wish FOX could show more of the field. Not seeing up to 4 recievers becaise they zoom so much makes it hard to know what's happening.

Listening to Bill Michaels and Gary Ellerson post game, Michaels talked about how towards the end of the 1st half there was a third down play where Rodgers looked at a wide open MVS for a short, but chain-moving, read and bypassed the throw, opting instead to look deep (and failed to complete).

Apparently LeFleur trailed Rodgers all the way off the field to the bench, exchanging some relatively heated words with him. They again met up before half and exchanged some more words before hitting the tunnel.

As Ellerson pointed out.. When the offense was clicking in the 1st Q, Rodgers was taking everything the defense was giving him.. Like the way #12 used to do a decade ago... Then there was a devolving into holding the ball and looking for the long shot again.

This is a legitimate issue with Rodgers.. I was happy to see him handing off the ball at least today, That's a huge improvement. But there's still much room for Rodgers to correct his play and run this offense.

Oppy

Well maybe he was worried MVS was just going to run backwards again for another 5-6 yard loss? Do you have a link on the play? I'm trying to picture what deep shot you are referring to. I remember the one to Adams that got PI called, and another to Adams that he dropped on the sideline, a nicely placed ball to MVS that he dropped and a wheel to AJ that got broken up. I missed the sideline jawing but I was probably out of the room. Punts are bathroom break time lol. Was it a heated argument or just MLF coaching on what he seen? I've been trying to find a replay of the exchange but there is nothing on youtube about it and I don't have a twitter.

EDIT: I was able to find quotes about it, but can't find a video. I want to see it - kinda disappointed I missed it lol. Sounds like they worked it out though. And I like that MLF went and sat by AR on the bench while the D was on the field. Get over there and discuss strategy and adjustments. That's what NE does. TB isn't on the sidelines just standing around. He's over there with his OC and WRs/TEs looking at defensive formations and game planning in real time.

2-0, way to go Pack!
Would like to know why the Pack went away from what worked so well in the first quarter.
Another great game for the Packers defense and JK Scott
Turnovers were huge. Defense really had only one bad play on Cook’s long TD run.
Lane Taylor is hurting the team. Try Jenkins.
Offense needs to show up for 4 quarters. Can’t expect defense to hold on for 3 quarters but a win is a win.
Bring on the Broncos. Go Pack Go! Thanks, Since ‘61

A lot of anxiety down here in Nashville. Not sure what happened starting the second quarter. Rodgers seemed to give up on new offense and go back to last year’s crap. Could you hear our moans of agony down in Tennessee up in Packerland?? But, 2-0 is better than I predicted at this point. GO PACK GO!!!!

Zimmerman is one of the outstanding defensive minds in the game and made some adjustments which took away what was working early. Seems like we could have had a couple more interceptions and we had some drops on offense which hurt us. The drops were tough catches but the ball hit both hands and you need to catch those. I thought there was a big momentum change when we didnt kick the field goal which would have gave us 24 points if successful .
A lot of growing pains but didn’t see anyone hanging their heads after the queens two big TD plays, a great sign. A nice win overall!

I was asking myself the same thing Since '61. I really liked the idea of both Williams and Jones in the backfield together...Not seeing it again reminded me of McCarthy.

Those first few drives Rodgers was getting the snap with about 10 seconds give or take about 3 seconds most of the time then back to running down to zero...UGH!!!!

"Would like to know why the Pack went away from what worked so well in the first quarter."

I would credit that to the Vikes D adjusting and taking away the easy looks. First few drives our guys were actually open. They clamped down and everything was contested the rest of the game. Both Davante and MVS had drops that would have extended drives which could have led to some more points on the board.

What a heroic performance by the defense.

As for offense, they ran the ball well today, and the passing game still could not get going (after the first Q). So now what's the excuse? And I don't think AR was the problem today. I know I'm not the first, but I'm really starting to worry about the WR depth. Can anyone other than Adams win on-one-one? As crazy as it sounds, they really need to get Shepherd back (for punt returns as well).

I disagree a little there is a few plays Rodgers had some open people underneath and he decided to hold the ball. he started to fall back on his old bad habits in the second half. But I will agree that it wasn’t all Rogers there was times where there was no one open or the offense of line didn’t block well or they dropped passes or Fumbled. So there’s a lot to clean up on the offense of side of the ball.

IMO the Packers HAVE to pick a WR in this next draft, If ILB is #1 the WR is #1A. Maybe there's a trade to be had...Maybe it's still because it's early it's taken some time to sort itself out. But not one of the WR not named Adams scares the opposing defenses.

Taryn - after all the seasons of watching the defense fold in so many games it feels like we’ve entered a parallel universe where the Packers offense struggles and the defense carries the day.

Hopefully someday soon our offense and defense will both play solidly in the same game. Thanks, Since ‘61

The best defense in the NFL didn't beat the Packers, so everyone said "Well, the Vikes offense is a much sterner test". They didn't beat the Packers either.

A better offensive team with a worse defense, doesn't stop the Packers offense.

I do expect the Pack to play a more complete game (offensively) as the season progresses, assuming at least reasonable health.

2-0 considering who we played and with both of them being divisional wins, is huge.

CW, I have to disagree.... after watching the second quarter in slo-mo they had many good O plays unscripted... IE: 30 yard beautiful pass down sideline to Adams and Harrison knocks it out last second. GMO fumbles or we get 3 or 7 points. Last drive, 1st down running. Then on 3 and 1 quick out to GMO (I believe) and MVS doesn't block for him or we get more points in all likelihood. If either of those happens we all are saying what an awesome half. MVS, has to block and that's very fixable or he shouldn't be playing. There was some really good drawn up plays just some lack of execution.

Packers are two average QBs away from 0-2. If the Bears and Vikings each had one, the Packers would be looking up at both teams.

Somehow the Packers dominated TOP by almost 10 minutes, and the defense had something to do with Cousins looking like B.J. Coleman out there. No column for style points in the standings. 2-0 is sweet!

Despite the TOP domination, the D looked gassed in the fourth quarter. As the announcers noted, a good running game will wear down a D moreso than a good passing offense will. We have the pieces to be a good running team, and today gave a glimpse of that, unlike last week. They'll get better on offense, meanwhile it's great to be 2-0 with effectively a two game lead on the Vikings and at least that on the Bears all while the O is still a work in progress.

32 carries for Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams combined! WHEN,... WHEN was the last time we saw that? FINALLY!

This Packers team needs to run more. Keeps opposing defenses off of Aaron Rodgers, and chews up the clock, bigtime! They ought to keep Dexter Williams active for 3rd and short - he wins those.

Sloppy sloppy play after 21-0 by the offense. The vision is there. You can see it. The first quarter was sublime. BUT...

It all started, really, when G-Mo inexcusably fumbled that catch for 1st down. That was the ensuing 75 yard run for the Vikings if I remember correctly? Davante drops one after that. MVS drops one. Granted, those aren't gimme plays BUT plays that can be made and need to be made.

The pre-snap penalties on the offense. Sloppy. Adams had one, inexcusably on a false start. Linsley had one in addition to the poor snap. That must be cleaned up if this team wants to get serious about contention.

Billy Turner has not fulfilled his contract after game 2 (I mean it's 2 games, perhaps this comment is silly). We need more there. Absolutely agreed, we need Jenkins out there. We saw him for a series there if I'm not mistaken and he was stout. I believe that was his only series.

All in all, you have to be pleased with the victory. They aren't easy and typically aren't pretty in the North. BUT, the offense has miles to go. They showed some potential today. They were definitely much improved. BUT, they left A LOT of points on the board by shooting themselves in the foot. Build off of quarter 1. Dissect the penalties and the ramifications of poor ball protection.

This is a game where you come away grateful you snagged victory from the arms of giving away Defeat.

And, one last thing, for all the talk about BJ Goodson and his downfield tackling for the Giants...

Well, we certainly didn't see that in a game much in need of down the backfield tackling. I know it's early for the young man and he's being thrust into a new defense, but for a guy with a main role of run defense it sure looked like most of his action was completed beyond a pile 5 yards beyond the Vikings LOS. That Raven Greene injury is not a good one for this defense.

On a different note...

Clark called for another hold on a run play. Just saw Derek Wolfe called for one against Chicago. Am I missing some new rule or emphasis this year?

New emphasis on hand play at the pad level. Last year more calls on holding with hands outside the pads on O line players. Saw three O holding calls this game base on hand placement. Direct result of how the Packers O line placed hands in pass blocking. League is trying to get ahead on both sides of the ball early, before they get into heart of season. (That is what I was told by my friend who is a AFC front office guy. He was pretty dubious, and thought the Refs would side back into normal use by the 5-6 game. It's the NFL, who knows?)

Well, I guess we can replace both Taylor and Turner in the starting O line after this game huh? Vikings is a top 10 defensive here folks, or you forget that already. Offensive play was light years from last week. MLF offensive concepts are beginning to sink in, still a work in progress. This was a Slam Bang Black and Blue division game. No quarter asked, and none giving. Our defense is special, now can they carried it through the season. We'll see next week. Great win! (Back to work. No [root]beer for me.....-:)

If I'm a Vikings fan I'm asking one thing:

Is it really beneficial to pick apart ticky-tack contact on scoring plays? That offensive PI call on Dalvin Cook is what I'd call, um, nonsense or, in the very least, borderline? To Dobber's point on the defensive holding calls, WHY does the NFL insist on taking one step forward and two-steps back? Last year with the egregious roughing the passer and illegal contact penalties early in the season was nauseating. Now, early in 2019 we're seeing defensive tackles called for holding (?!?) and reviewing simple scoring plays where they are attempting to discern illegal contact when BOTH players are jostling for position? It just doesn't make much sense and speaks to a rules committee that is grasping at straws.

The game is simple and beautiful when rules are enforced sensibly and effectively. When you open areas of enforcement and interpretation in things like negligible contact, you start blurring the lines. Case and point, later in the game, was the offensive PI call on Jimmy Graham. How is that a push-off when BOTH players collide at the point of a route turning from a go-route to a simple out or curl?

My main point is: I just don't understand how I find myself coming into each new Modern NFL season asking what is allowed and what isn't. Why not simply cure the 'What is a catch?' criteria? Why do we tamper with what didn't need tampering?

Absolutely. It's karmic in a way. BUT, in my mind, it doesn't give it credence beyond that. In the long-run, it's just a problem. I don't think you can objectively look at that play and say Cook instigated that contact over Savage. There's just no need, in terms of the purity or beauty of the game, to open that up to more analysis by fallible and very human refs.

That being said, I have to say: that was a very fair call on the Thielen catch. It looked like a classic case of the ground NOT causing Thielen to drop the ball after his roll.

Cook ran an illegal pick on two Packers DBs on that play. He wasn't running a route on the first contact, that was simply a block downfield. Not at all sure they called the penalty based on the contact with Savage: by that time he was sort of running a route.

Goodell trying to fix his mistake of last season. Stupid jerk left the Refs at sea trying to interpret non sense PI rules. This is a wipe away of those rules imposed in the middle of the season last year. NFL is all most using the rules NCAA adopted three years ago. Just go ahead and adopt the hands and route rules and be done with it. (like THAT will ever happen.)

I think with the lead, the idea was to let the clock run. At least that's how I would play it. As long you're lined up and ready for the snap I see no problem in taking time off the clock. It gives the opponent less time to work with and gives the defense more time to rest.

Well, yet again, a dumbfounding play call on 3rd down at the end of the Half. (Edited: mistakenly had listed as 'end of GAME' previously.)

After 2nd down, MN does the Packers a favor and calls a TO, leaving themselves only one left.

On 3rd & 16 from relatively deep in Packers territory, instead of running the ball and forcing MN to use its final TO, The Packers decide to attempt a pass.

Ultimately, did not make a difference as the Vikes got nothing going.. but none the less.. Run the ball, take some time off the clock, force MN to burn their final, then have JK Scott boot a very high, very long punt.

Scratching my head over here. Other than that, happy to see the Packers actually commit to the RBs today. They threw over the middle occasionally. The Defense gave up a few big plays, but overall, I thought they did well again.

I did not expect a win today. I really didn't know what to expect. .. but I was happy with the results.

Now to see the Packers offense against a more "average" defense.

Regarding not using up the clock at the end, if it were McCarthy I'd say he's not used to having a very good D, but that doesn't apply to LaFleur. I was hoping for a 1-1 start, and of course got greedy after last week, but the Packers need to take advantage of their early home games and they're on their way...

What play are you talking about? It was never 3 and 16. On the last drive they ran 6 out of 7 plays basically running the clock down to under 15 seconds. During that series on 2nd and 6 LaFleur called a play action slant to Adams for a first down which by the way I called before the play. Vikings were playing run and it was a great call. The series before that they passed 3 times and it was 3 and 10.

Jaire played the ball passively??? He had to run about a mile just to get to make a play on that ball! Jaire did more than his share to stop the play. Diggs was lucky the ball landed in his hands. I have nothing but praise for Jaire's play, so far. Just getting to a position to make a play on the ball, from where he was on the field, was an outstanding effort by Jaire.

Here in Minnesota this loss was all the ref’s fault. Here’s the b&tch here: the refs and the league wanted the Packers to win. When Kurt cousins is mentioned I was told he wouldn’t have had to try so hard if it weren’t for the refs. I agreed and said the fumble and two INTs were the refs fault not that Kurt cousins looked the same as his previous seasons. Silence after that. Someone else put a jar of Vaseline by the TV with a note that said: “For my butt-hurt Viking friends.” Almost all thought it was funny.

I don’t think that we “let” Cook get that long run. Commentators said that he was running 20 MPH. Cook is good at that. We saw that in his previous games. Sometimes the other team has a player who gets his yards. Yet we did better after that.

Without that 75 yarder, Cook had 79 yards on 19 carries. That's hardly dominant. He got away for 1 big play. It happens. The D recovered nicely and didn't let him break free again.

Lefleur wanted to kick field goal. Rodgers screwed up thinking it was a first down vs 4th down and ran on 4th down. That is a huge screw up! Not sure how that happens with microphone in his helmet for sideline communication.

Honestly I wanted them to go for it and put the dagger in the Vikes right then and there. Would have been the perfect time for a play action shot when everyone was expecting a run.

That was a huge mistake not kicking the FG. Lombardi always said never come away without points when you're in close.

Grateful for the win, but...

Need to find a reliable short passing game badly to move the sticks; let's get the O-line working on some screens and pretty much everything else. Need another receiver to step up besides #17.... What's the point in having Graham in there if he can't get open or block? Use Lewis more.... Amazed the Vikings had only two sacks--it seemed like more. And why on earth did La Fleur pass up a reasonable field goal opportunity? Also a poor challenge on a Thielen reception--no way that was going to be overturned.

Another solid effort by the defense--loving it! Where would we be without the Smiths and our new secondary? Nice performance from Scott again, too.

Cook is a pretty impressive back. The Vikes outthought themselves on their final drive--they should've kept handing the ball to him. I couldn't believe Cousins heaved it into what appeared to be double coverage--thanks, Kirk! And great job King for holding on to it.

I prefer to focus on what we have vs. what we don't have. First, an emerging elite defense. Secondly, an evolving offence - that performed much better this week. Sacks were down - established a legitimate running game and Davante Adams was superb. Many positives with the only negative being the injury to Greene. Plus 2-0! Let us enjoy this time.

Great to win. As everyone said, the offense is going to be a work in progress the first few weeks. Hopefully it happens sooner than later because after the first few drives they looked terrible. Also, it's past time to get Lane Taylor out of there.

We are a dangerous team. A tough defense and an almost certain surplus in the turnover margin, cause Rodgers seldom turns the ball its a good recipe.

IMO lafleur is doing a good job willing to run the ball and having a balanced offense. The players seem to like him. Anyway it doesnt really matters what passing play he calls or what aaron does if the receivers arent able to win 1 on 1. Opposite Adams there is nothing.

We better run the ball rely on the defense and not turning the ball over with some kind of magic from Rodgers because im afraid we dont have the playmakers outside to be a very productive passing attack...

We are not an evolving offense, we are devolving. This offense will not be decent until we have WR's and TE's who can get open and make yardage after the catch. I've set new records for dislikes here in my disdain for Allison and MVS and I will continue to make the argument that they are the reason the offense stinks. One more game like this and MLF will come to the same conclusion and bench them to see if Kumerow, Davis or Lazar are any better.

I would call this an adequate over-reaction. It's definitely an over-reaction. BUT, I honestly can't tell you you're wrong. I really can't. G-Mo had a heck of a TD catch. AND, he also had a terrible and costly fumble and a very reluctant RAC for a 1st down after the fumble. MVS had a tough drop and really hasn't done much else to separate himself.

I call it an over-reaction in the end as I'm not seeing much consistently from anyone on the offense. I'll make actual judgments by the 2nd half of the season.

1st Game - after first quarter - Bears 3 - Packers 0.

2nd Game - after first quarter - Packers 14 - Vikings 0.

Evolution is a process of gradual change that takes place over many games and starting with the hiring of Matt LaFleur. We are just at the very beginning.

You should be slapping yourself for thinking the offense would look great in game 2.... Really. Give this Packers team a solid 5-6 games with the new system before making judgments like that.

I'm all in on Kumerow getting playing time. I believe he is the missing piece in extending drives and scoring.

This is an issue when you try and get to the website via the old mobile search - ie your mobile phone has saved a function. Part of the kinks of a new website rollout. Not a major problem.

Here's a quick solution: simply enter 'cheeseheadtv.com' and bypass your old m.cheesehead.tv address

Yep - We have some caching in place via 3rd parties to make things load quickly but somethings domain related updates take time too update across domain name services across the net. Eventually the updates will percolate through all DNS servers and the m.cheeseheadtv.com links will automatically redirect.

THAT Bears finish is EVERYTHING wrong with the NFL. EVERYTHING. What in the colossal wheel of moldy cheese was that utter horse bologna?!? I say this both as a Bear hater AND a football fan. That was just such unreal incompetence it defies reason. The roughing the passer on Chubb?!? THEN they allow that final play?!? What can one say to that? What does Fangio say to his team?!?

I had no problem with the final play as there was clearly 1 second left as the receiver hit the ground. I don't know what the rule is in terms of when the clock stops: when the timeout is requested or when the ref grants it? I do take major issue with the Chubb roughing the passer penalty earlier in the final drive, that was just as bad as the Clay Matthews roughing penalty against the Vikings last year.

September 15, 2019 at 07:27 pm

The clock ran out on the filed of play. The refs didn't grant the TO. Nor should they have, if you watch the replay. The mystifying aspect to it is: Where did they make the determination there was 1 second remaining? There was no review under a tent. No red flag from the booth. It very well may have proven to be there was a play left - regardless of the nonsense of the previous roughing the passer penalty. BUT, it was as if the head ref simply made a decision out of thin air despite what had actually happened in the field of play.

It was disorganized chaos, frankly.

I don't necessarily disagree with you re: the 1 second. You can definitely make that argument and there is credence there. BUT, the evolution of the play did not merit the way it went down. That is my assertion.

I mean, I know it is hard to judge these actions in real time. AND, human beings make mistakes. That is all fine and good from my vantage point. BUT, what isn't is the game down to the wire and a speedy disorganized nature to its finish. Denver deserved better. The Bears did not.

That's my take.

I feel if they can cut up multiple replays to determine a catch or td then they could do the same for this play. Receiver on the ground and Trubiski running to call the To. It's just that 12 weeks from now that call could determine playoff seeding.

We all owe a great debt of thanks to the vikings OC for calling a pass play after running right through the Packer's defense. I was sure they'd just keep running and score a touchdown. That was a key play, and King's int was a hell of a play.

As I posted last week, AR has NO Tight End, & 1 above average Receiver, That's All!! I didn't play the game today, but I would have lost if I did. I would have taken Minn +3. Again, as I said last week, AR needs Weapons & there are None. I got ripped for saying that, but once again, if there are game changing Receivers, Who Are They?? I wasn't surprised GB won last week, but I am amazed they covered the -3 today. Hopefully this offense can get better as the year goes on, but with this group of Receivers, I don't see how. As I joked last week, I think Jones & Nelson could play with this group. I listened to Wayne Laravee on the radio, which always makes me sick, so I didn't see the game. Besides Adams & Gironimo, who are average NFL Receivers, Adams above average, Who does AR have to throw to. Cook is still 3 times better than Graham. The 1st score sounded like a Drive of Beauty. The other 2 were Gifts. I can't believe GB can continue to win with these Receivers. I also can't believe Tramon Williams still has a uniform. I don't know if anyone is out there, but we need at least 1 Top Notch Receiver to go with Adams. I'm glad we're 2 & 0, but realisticly we could be 0 &2.

What's really sad is that Minn was able to clamp down after the initial passing onslaught being without 2 of their starting CBs. GBs WRs couldn't even get open against back ups.

Wow I'm so thrilled and relieved we won. Had to watch the entire game on a stream on my phone while at work. Great HD quality!

Tale of two games for sure. Absolutely giddy after a 21-0 lead, watch third quarter while I eat lunch thinking we're going to blow this game. Settle back into work with a Giant fan friend of mine and was commiserating with him about their pending loss... And then Kevin King saves the Day.

I'm exhausted, the talent is really there on both sides of the ball, But Rogers needs to stop winding the clock down, D's like the Viking just T off on him when he does that. And my pet peeve of the day, Rodgers needed to run up the middle when it meant keeping the offense on the field to rest our D.

Now I'm just going to go bask in the sweetness of beating the Vikings! And we are 2-0 and not them or the Bears. I've seen a lot worse starts to the season

I was limited to NFL Network updates during the game so I didn’t see much. I feel the angst here, and can imagine what it was like to watch it again. However, we have a different outcome this time. After getting spanked in the division last year the Packers are 2-0 against the best the NFC North has to offer. I didn’t think that would be the case 2 weeks ago.

Get better on offense. Stay healthy. Win next week. Go Pack Go!

Terrific result -- pure grit. Offensively there's still a lot to clean up, but at least we caught a glimpse of how good it can be early on.

Defensively-- bend, don't break comes to mind. The Smiths look like a damn good investment! Glad Kevin King held onto his INT since he dropped one vs. Chicago.

Special teams -- Trevor Davis can flush this tape down the toilet. JK Scott is ballin out still.

Aside from Raven Green, I think we came out OK (knock on wood).

When the offense had rhythm in the 1rst quarter everything looked better. After, AR and the offense reverts back to old bad habits. Snapping the ball with almost no time on the play clock and holding the ball too long. Take the check downs and throw them open like earlier in AR's career. This offense has so much potential if you don't fight it and just take what the defense is willing to give up.
Still 2-0 is a good spot to continue to grow from. Go Pack and thank you to the Big Green "D"!

"What a mess on offense. Rodgers taking the playclock down to 0:01 every time and then holding the football forever. It's like McCarthy never left."

Someone needs to explain to Nagler that the idea when you have a lead is to use up as much clock as you can. By Rodgers hanging on to the ball and taking the play clock down to .01 every play he probably used up 2-3 minutes of clock that the Vikings couldn't use at the end of the game.
