As noted, Z is a pin that needs to fall pretty soon. There's no way the Packers get under the cap without fixing that problem.

There's been some talk of teams doing homework on him when/if he gets cut. I wonder if the Packers are hoping someone will make a call and give a late rounder for the chance to not have to bid on him in the open market.

Or maybe they are working some contract manipulation because remember he has a 12 mill cap if released. I would not be surprised if some teams are staying away because of age and injury. In Green Bay he has a contending team and can be part of a rotation which will increase his productivity.

Interesting, though I think it unlikely. GB would have to carry Z's almost $28M cap number on their books through March 16. I suppose if Adams would reach a long term deal that reduces his cap from $20M to $10M there might be a way. I don't think GB could get too much, a day three pick I suppose.

I wonder why AR hasn't signed yet. I guess I am not worried, but I do feel unease. Plus, it is screwing up my timeline: I thought I would be able to write an article one day on Jaire's extension, the next day on Turner's restructure, etc., so as to have a steady dose of non-clickbait articles. Drat! Now it is all going to come down at one time, making me work harder and causing another too long article! [Nah, they would all be long.]

I'll take a day 3 for Z. Your articles on accounting practices is a mainstay and simplifies a complicated and confusing topic. Nine teams are still over the cap albeit most of them are only a few mill over. I'm thinking there's some haggling going on, look at baseball.
