I would bring in A J Epenesa for a medical visit. And if he passes and his price remains low, I would sign him before the draft so we are clean going into the draft as far as need. I think he could be had for maybe $2 million annually. He is a solid vet and has consistently produced more than any of our Edges not named Parsons. In fact I could see him outperforming Gary while playing across from Parsons.

Up until 10 days ago, I wanted a CB with our first pick after a slight trade back for more picks, because our CB position group is pathetic compared to other NFL teams. And even though the right CB like Neal, C Johnson, Igbinosun could start immediately, the CB group is so strong I have pivoted to Edge as our first pick for the same reason. The right selection could start immediately in 2026.

If Gabe Jacas or Dani Dennis-Sutton are available @ #52, we should run the pick to the podium. If they are gone, we could move back 10-15 picks and still get Derrick Moore. He could also start in 2026. I am not a fan of Zion Young. If the aforementioned 3 are gone, maybe Romello Height or Jaishawn Barham in the 4th or 5th.

Or maybe we draft one of the really fast smaller DTs to play Edge. If we strike out on Jacas, Denis-Sutton, and Moore, and if Epenesa isn't an option, I would try to sign a bridge Edge rusher like Clowney or the Saints guy after the draft. and then tackle the need in the 2027 draft when we have more picks.

We can still improve/upgrade this team by signing some reasonable FAs at NT, Edge, & CB. With the right FAs and a solid draft where we fill our needs, this GB team could be very dangerous in 2026 barring the injury woes we had last year.

The thing I like about Zion Young is his ability to set the edge. Way too many times the OLB/De will turn inside but the guy with the ball goes outside. And vice versa. Ad nauseam.

Makes the case for Edge, and Jacas. at 52 as he is more explosive.

Please, no speed power types at 52! We need players who are competent against the run certainly, but we need ones with moves and the ability to bend and turn.

We already have LVN and Sorrell who are mostly power, one could argue Cox too. We need someone who can flush QBs and not blow past them. No Moore, No Jacas, no Denis-Sutton. Learn from past mistakes.

By the time we pick, it’s a pretty lame group unless you count the Sub 250 Oliver types. I think we only take one of those late, probably for the PS as I doubt we keep 2 designated rusher types on the roster. Of the more typically sized, Keyron Crawford has some upside, but he’s raw technically. He’s probably a 4th rounder. Max Llewelyn might be a reasonable developmental gamble on day 3.
