AS far as STs coach search goes, a bigger factor should be when hiring an asst coach that has been on a staff that has had Top 10-15 teams consistently.
FA signings. Any that we sign this year are not going to be long terms fixes at any position. We can't afford guys that fit that profile. GB should be looking at lower cost younger FA players or older vets that still produce, that are "Upgrades" over what we have now, period. Instead of blowing a huge chunk on a player like Montaric Brown-CB, sign 2 solid, younger CBs who have started and performed in NFL games. There are more of that type available than one would think and they are upgrades over what we have now.
We are in a win now mode and signing 1 expensive FA only fills 1 hole and we still have 1/2 dozen more that will keep us from winning more than a first round playoff game. Strengthening & upgrading 5 positions for $15 million makes way more sense. Sign an upgrade TE like Charlie Kolar. Sign an upgrade KR like Skyy Moore. Sign a LB to replace Quay like Leo Chenel or Logan Wilson.
Signing two $2-5 million vet CBs and then drafting 2 solid CBs before the 7th round, upgrades and strengthens the weakest position group on the field. When Parsons gets back and Gary is not blocking better, younger Edge rushers from playing, these new CBs will look that much better because of pass rush.
The best thing GB could do to upgrade/fix a fixable problem before the draft is by signing a veteran upgrade NT(Calais Campbell #1) or try to trade for D'Vondre Sweat. That eliminates one big area of need before the draft, a run stuffer. Either player would be an upgrade over what we have now, and to a lesser degree than Parsons, makes the whole defense better.
We will have more financial flexability and probably many draft picks next year(4 comp picks?) to address longer term fixes.

Trey Hendrickson, really? That makes absolutely no sense and puts us in salary cap hell for the next 5 seasons. He is how old? What happens if he gets hurt, which he was this year? I would be hesitant even if it was Myles Garrett instead.
1 upgrade-Too Expensive.
Find 5 cheap FAs and upgrade 5 weak spots @ -DT, CB, KR, LB, TE. Team is way better than last year.
Re-sign Rhyan, Cox
Don't give LVN the 5th year
Trade Gary & Musgrave & Hobbs for something, anything!
Trade for Sweat-a 5th rounder for him is guaranteed to be better than a draft pick
See what we have in our younger RBs-Danien Martinez & Pierre Strong
Move back for more picks in draft
