Van Ness was also badly overdrafted by GB, but no one will ever say he is lazy and takes plays off like Rashaan Gary. That said we should not offer the 5th year option on LVN, let the year play out. I don't expect a "Breakout Year' because he is what he is, a solid rotational D-lineman. He needs to gain 20 lbs and move inside more where his quickness would be a big problem for any O-line. Then offer a contract for $5-8 million per year and keep a solid player on board.

LVN has more potential than Wyatt and is younger. We need an interior pass rush badly and I would take 6-8 sacks from LVN coming from a DT spot over the same 6-8 from DE. Why not just take advantage of what he has to offer and move him inside more often. The player comparison I like to make is the Rams Braden Fiske as he and LVN are twins body wise, But Lukas is faster. He could wreak havoc from the IDL and really help our pass rush.

A shout out to the Seattle Seahawks and their draft room. They selected Rylie Mills-DT-Notre Dame in the 4th round and he played a lot in the Super Bowl as a rookie. Mills, who also fits this Braden Fiske, LVN body type inside pass rusher I am talking about, was a favorite of mine before the 2025 draft. He was lost for most of the 2025 season with an injury, and he fell in the draft because of it. He would have made a hell of a Packer, but we will have to make do with our guy LVN.

Again, a BIG no to the 5th year option, he hasn't done anything to warrant it. I would sign A J Epenesa for $8 million , before I would sign Enegbare, and before I would give Lucas $15 million. We wasted more than enough money on Banks & Hobbs last year. $15 million would be a huge overpay for what we get from LVN. Spend it on a solid, young, cheap, boundary CB instead.
