Banks is going to be 29.-
Jenkins is already 30-
Gary turned 28-

Better To get rid of a player a year early.
Then a year late.

Extensions ? after Training camp!

"Better To get rid of a player a year early. Then a year late."

That was always Belichick's motto in New England Stock, and it's why he always had extra draft picks to move up or down in the draft. He was kind of successful don't you think?

It's not going to make much difference to build up some 2026 FA money if the guys we sign are as bad as Banks & Hobbs. But I do hope we can come up with maybe $15 million to sign:

Charlie Kolar-TE-Ravens-trade Musgrave-projected $1.7 million
Skyy Moore-KR/WR-Giants-replaces Doubs and he is an A= returner-projected $1.4 million
Leo Chanel-LB-Chiefs-replace Kraft for 1/2 the price-projected $4.4 million
Jedrick Wills-OT/OG-Browns-Swing tackle or guard for $2-3 million
???????-CB from somebody-$4-5 million

I just read this on NFL.com. It's why we have so many holes and no depth on the roster.

"A recent article at NFL.com ranked and graded every 2025 rookie class from worst to first, and there were NFC North bookends with the Chicago Bears on top at number one (A) and the Green Bay Packers bringing up the rear in last place (D+).

The Bears being number one wasn’t much of a surprise, since they had a trio make history, but I wasn’t expecting to see the Packers ranked 32nd, far below the 31st-ranked Buffalo Bills (C-)."

Doesn't say much is good in our draft room.

Rookies have to play and be developed which is not just on Gute and his squad.

If Gute plans to hold onto his compensatory picks, he will have to sign a number of cut players, RFA's, June cuts, 7th round compensatory pick types (perhaps), and work the trade angle. Think of this, we may not have starters, Parsons, Wyatt, & Kraft, until October to go with the potential loss of Quay, Rasheed, Rhyan, Doubs, Jenkins, and, perhaps, Gary. That's 9 starters. So, I do agree with the point of creating cap space to go after a couple of players, but there has to be more than just the draft (especially given our recent history) and a couple of priority free agents.

Gute can start by signing his own players like Rhyan, Enagabare and/or Cox, Kinnard, Niemann, Anderson, Brooks and/or Wilson, Whyle, and perhaps Ford. This year especially he needs to be both aggressive and creative at the same time to fill the multiple needs we have. ALSO, lets not get hung-up by "OLD GUYS!" Packers won a Super Bowl after signing players like Reggie, Sean Jones, and Bruce Wilkerson AT THE AGE OF 32, Eugene Robinson at 33, Keith Jackson at 30, and even Andre Rison at 29!!!!!! We are limiting our chance of success by ignoring a huge, HELPFUL pool of older players. I'd be looking at simply are they better than what we have at the value we need.

The only thing Gutey got right with Banks ……is that his last name says it all. HE TOOK US TO THE BANK.

GUTEY SET US BACK 2 years with the banks move and o line mess.

You don’t pay a guy that much who wasn’t that good to begin with,.,,,

Should have went and got Mason Miller from lions practice squad and tried him out.

A guy that will grow and get better. Plus it’s nice to have a o linemen with a square jaw and crew cut.

Jenkins most likely wouldn’t have got hurt at guard…plus would have handled cheap shot artists from Philly Carter
