I think the writing off of Stackhouse at this point is beyond ridiculous. This is a rookie who did not play a vast amount against “starters” in preseason and, when he did, was asked to do a limited amount of things.
In the last game he was being asked not just to take a much bigger role in terms of snaps but to expand what he was doing beyond not only his role in GB to date but on what he did in college. That was being a starting run specialist on the best college DL in football.
Yet as you trash a rookie UDFA on that basis, you forget Wooden. His run play was negligibly better and his penetration wholly absent. Both of you were hailing him as the replacement 3 down player for Slaton a month and a half ago. Now you barely mention him as a potential source of contribution?
Stackhouse needs time, but we do need extra depth. Right now, none of your mentioned possibilities (except Collins which I think unlikely given our picks traded already) seem better than Jonathan Ford, who is on the Bears’ PS. Left to me I would carry an additional DT on this roster this year. Neither Wooden nor Stackhouse are proven.
Brinson was never a primary run guy, he was a penetrating 3T. Wyatt’s run work has improved dramatically, but I was pointing out after the Clark trade, that there’s no run capable depth that is ready and that looks prescient. Both of you were confident in Wooden (300 pounds or less and changing role). You should take a breath here.
Wooden is on his last year of his contract. Add depth and give Brinson and Stackhouse time, which one would assume it was expected would be needed give how they were acquired and typical DT career paths.

Exactly ,these fucking writers I swear man .Yes his strength has always been in question .U let the kid keep getting stronger ,learning his PRO TECHNIQUE and u then let him work .Giving up on him after one game where he actually had to play big reps is a joke .This big ass kid hasn’t even grown into his dam body yet .Now do u go get someone for this year ,YES I agree to that ,but not long term ..

My main complaint - is that the Packers seem to play to the level of their opponents. Up for the big ones, and down for the bad ones. When is the last time you saw GB dominate a bad team? GB plays to their level and lets them hang around .............
