Any Rookie WR who has 4.4s speed, can catch a pass cleanly and will fight for the ball, runs clean routes and good vision with the ball safely in his hands for YAC.....and in this offense.....is a willing blocker in the run game. We scored 10 points in the playoffs last season. It should not take much to improve from there....when you're already at the bottom of functional offenses. Get 2 good WR's in this draft and see what it can be capable of, or wait until round 2 and wait another 3-4 years of J.Loves career fly bye and a tough running Josh Jacobs career not sniff a Super Bowl. It's your choice Gute....Unfortunately.

How many points do you think the Eagles would have scored if they had turned it over four times? You're looking at the results without the causation. The Packers had four turnovers, the Eagles zero and they scored 12 points more.

Our Defense showed up.....The Offense....Not so much. Eagles QB coming off a bad concussion, he played better later in the playoffs. I never thought the Eagles were unbeatable by the Pack....but JL played real poor, and WR's got covered badly in man coverage and could do nothing. That's why we need 2 better WR's at the top of the draft and a move-up for both.

Biggest impact of rookies? Good question. I am tempted to say Jordon Morgan and Marshon Lloyd. They were last years first and forth picks respectively. Tragically, both were virtually out for the entire first year with injuries. They will essentially be rookies this year.
In addition, Christian Watson seems to have been more injured than not, But, when healthy he is clearly our number one WR. He was really coming on until that final injury. He should be back before the playoffs... God willing.

With those players added you have to give Gute a lot of credit for a tremendous draft. Had it not been for the injuries last years draft was an A+. Rounding out his first four picks both Cooper and Bullard both missed games due to injury too. In the NFL staying healthy is probably the most important variable there is in terms of winning games. Gute knows this and no one is better qualified to makes the calls on draft day than him. But, no one is perfect and hind sight is of course 20-20.

So, the three day battle begins Thursday. Good luck to General Gute. Give em hell. I will have the annual beer and hot dogs. Enjoy! Semper Fi Packers!

Any first round pick MIGHT have a big impact; that's the hope of course.
Heck, we could pick a QB and then have Love go down early with an injury.

But "playing the game," I'd think a high-quality CB has the best shot. The starting outside CB position is open for competition, and quality rookie CBs have a decent history of success.

WRs and DLs usually have more of a learning curve in the NFL.
Now, if you get a Justin Jefferson or an Aaron Donald, great, but those are rare.

An OL is highly unlikely to start unless someone is injured.

Yeah, I'm going with a CB for "best odds of having a big impact."

It depends how one looks at it, but the positions most likely to make an impact on this team from day one, if the right individuals are chosen, are those where we have no current equivalent.

For me that means in no particular order:
* A DT with run stopping credentials since Slaton is gone
* A Size/Speed threat X WR since Watson is out.
* A Speed Agility DE as we have none and missed that option last year.

I would expect each to have a relatively limited role. Rushing down specialist, situational vertical threat and designated rusher as rookies, but such contributions are not unusual. Designated rushers start fast frequently and MVS illustrates that one can get benefits from a rookie vertical threat, contributing not merely with yards but by stretching defenses in ways not seen the previous season.

It’s not just this year’s crop of picks that could make an impact as “new players”. Add into consideration the possibility that players like Lloyd, Hopper, Oladapo and Morgan are healthy and find roles. All were effectively injured in summer and into the season. Donovan Jennings was a high paid UDFA G that also had health issues like they did and is essentially the 5th extra draft pick given his guarantee.

Perhaps the majority of those find a role, in some cases situational and a couple as significant parts of the rotation in a way injuries precluded last year. All are essentially sleeper picks at RB, ILB, S, T/G, & G. We have really only seen Morgan briefly and Oladapo even more so, even in summer.

Then there are a couple of later picks that were healthy but unseen: King and Monk, one could add Hadden although he was a 6th by the Chiefs last year. 2 CBs that could be part of the rotation perhaps and possibly the next man up at C. While it’s a leap to assume a major contribution from this group, it’s not impossible that one emerges and finds a niche and snaps, particularly as the season progresses.
