Colts S Melvin Bullitt Out For the Season
By admin
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Indianapolis Colts safety Melvin Bullitt will miss the remainder of the 2010 season.
Bullitt has a broken bone in his right shoulder.
The undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M was starting in place of Bob Sanders, who is out indefinitely after having surgery to repair a torn right biceps tendon. Bullitt has been elected a captain of the Colts' special teams unit the last two seasons, and had 14 tackles and an interception this season.
Bullitt is earning a $1.684 million base salary this season under the one-year, restricted free agent tender. Bullitt has started 24 of his 48 games the last four seasons, totaling 182 tackles and 6 interceptions.
Without Bullitt, the Colts will likely turn to veteran DaJuan Morgan, who joined the team last month after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs.
