Packers Calendar: Scouting Wisconsin vs. Oregon State
A scout from the Green Bay Packers will be at today's college football game between Wisconsin and Oregon State in Madison.
Head coach Mike McCarthy said at yesterday's press conference that the team's weight room will be open today, though the team will not practice.
According to Chris Steuber via Twitter, director of player personnel for the Georgia Force of the Arena Football League, a scout from the Packers will be in attendance at today's Wisconsin vs. Oregon State college football game.
And finally, according to a press release from the Packers:
As part of the Back to Football campaign, USA Football, the official youth football development partner of the Packers and the NFL, will conduct America’s National Youth Football Kickoff, the country’s largest youth football kickoff celebration. The nationwide event will be held on Saturday, September 10, and will encompass youth football fields in Appleton, Berlin, Green Bay and Seymour among more than 2,000 other youth football fields involving 600,000 youth players. Youth teams will kick off their September 10 games with a red, white and blue commemorative football provided by USA Football, celebrating their return to football.

Hmmnm, wonder what Badgers they were looking at? Possible thoughts:
-I think Nick Toon will be a decent possession guy at the next level, but we've already got someone like him in Jordy. If Driver retires and we get rid of JJ we could possibly consider taking him somewhere around round 3.
-Wagner, Oglesby, and Zeitler should all be decent NFL-material, and we always like to take a chance with an O-linemen in rounds 4-7, so could possibly be one of them.
-We don't really have much of a need for a safety, but Aaron Henry is a good athlete and could probably contribute on ST.
-Finnelus is definitely undersized for a CB at a generously listed 5'9", but he has GREAT ball skills and can blanket receivers pretty well.
-The big question is Russell Wislon. At 5'11, can he play QB at the next level? He's looked pretty sharp so far...if not, I'm not sure he;s a good enough athlete to play a different position.
