That First Month Is So Money...
By PackerAaron
The Packers could easily be 3-1 at the bye week. (Early bye sucks, but oh well...)
Now that I see it laid out like that, I feel even better about my 10 win prediction...
UPDATE: On second thought, I think an early bye is a GOOD thing. Allows Capers/McCarthy to take stock of what is and isn't working with the defensive install...

I'm shocked to hear myself saying this, but that schedule DOES look like a 10-win one. (Provided Rodgers doesn't suffer some sort of rotator cuff calamity.)

I'm excited for the season after seeing the schedule. I'm ready for football again.

They get the Ravens at home on five days rest. Then travel to Chicago and Pittsburg the next two weeks. That is a tough three games. I do like the how the first 8 games plays out though. Probably need six wins those first eight....

I stopped playing this game long ago. The schedule is certainly looking good but you never know who will be the Arizona Cardinals of 2009. Cautiously optimistic would be a good descriptor here

For the Blogfesters, I made some suggestions in the forum now that the schedule is up

Good point Andrew. We won't be able to determine schedule strength until the end of the season.

Dave, that's not a five-say turnaround...that's a Thursday game followed by Monday night! Who cares about an early Bye when you get another near-bye after Thanksgiving? This looks like a fun season.

Or 5 days...new iphone, still not that adept at the typing.

Interesting indeed...of course, given the Packers have the 2nd or 3rd easiest schedule this year, it's kind of hard to find a "bad" month, isn't it?
That will change, as some teams are going to be better than last year. The Lions can't get any worse. I won't predict 10 wins but I can see 8, maybe 9. I'm going with 8, though.

Nothing is ever for sure in the NFL.

Sweet! That's like a second bye.

The Minnesota game in week 4 hinges on three things: 1. the status of the Williams wall and whether they will be completing their 4 game suspension announced last season (and the Williams wussies went to court to get an injunction). If they are out, you get Jimmy Kennedy and Letroy Guion (WHO?). Sounds like 3 yards and a cloud of dust time to me (thanks Woody Hayes).
2. The Viqueens ongoing quarterback travails and who is starting that week (neither one scares me quite honestly).
3. The Queens record after the first 3 games (they get Cleveland away, Detroit away, and San Fran at home). They are expecting to be 3-0 going into the Monday night game with the Pack.

I have to think that 3-1 start at the minimum is very doable.
What's the deal with ALWAYS having to go to Chicago in the middle of December?
Also 4 out of our final 6 games on the road, don't care for that at all

The schedule says, win a lot early. A slow start could be disastorus. I don't want any "it's early don't worry" comments this year. Early wins are an absolute must.
