Redskins Release RB Larry Johnson

According to Howard Balzer of The Sports Exchange, the Washington Redskins have released running back Larry Johnson.
Update: Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reports that the Redskins have signed running back Chad Simpson.
A former first-round pick out of Penn State by the Kansas City Chiefs, Johnson ran for 6,219 yards and 55 touchdowns before signing a three-year deal with the Redskins in March.
Johnson ran for 46 yards on 17 carries during the pre-season, and in two regular season games for the 'Skins, Johnson gained two yards on 5 attempts.
