The forth year pro should provide special teams help.
By PackerAaron
The Packers lost cornerback Chandon Sullivan to the Vikings in free agency early on Friday morning.
Friday evening, the Packers reportedly signed former Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Keisean Nixon, according to Doug Kyed over at PFF.

No word yet on any deal terms.
Nixon obviously has familiarity with the Packers new special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
The fourth year pro is a former 2019 undrafted rookie out of South Carolina and has spent his first three NFL seasons with the Raiders.
Nixon has played in 40 games and recorded 38 tackles from scrimmage. More importantly, he's played 704 career special teams snaps and has some experience as a returner.

I don’t really know much about Nixon. Sounds like he can contribute on STs as well as provide some depth at CB.
I’ll be interested in learning the terms of his deal.

So Nixon is 5'10', 196 pounds at his pro day in 2019. He ran a 4.42 forty with a fine 1.56 ten yard dash. The rest of his numbers weren't so good. He managed 10 reps on the bench, a terrible 32.5 vertical, and a 7.28 three cone. He did have a 10' broad jump, but just a 4.52 twenty yard shuttle.
Just sounds like a guy whose measurables don't work that well for a cornerback but who does have straight-line speed.

UDFA who has made a place for himself through special teams and sounds like a guy who can be a ST specialist and an extra fill-in CB on game day. With a 90-man roster, he's welcome in GB.

Since we lost Sullivan, who signed with Vikes, we needed an experienced CB for depth. Not much of a returner as he has 6 kick off attempts , but non last season.

Kind of funny how a significant portion of NFL signings are based on familiarity from coaching or player. Get a coach from team X, then a couple players are signed from team X.

Like many organizations in various industries, the NFL is very incestuous in terms of coaching hires and signing players. Similar to corporate executives who bring people they are familiar with as they move from company to company. Clean house of the former regime to bring in the new one. It goes on everywhere.
