Packers sign DT Jordon Riley off Giants practice squad
The team had an open roster spot after releasing receiver Will Sheppard
By PackerAaron

Looking to help fill the void in the middle of their defensive line after losing Devonte Wyatt, the Packers have reportedly signed defensive tackle Jordan Riley off the Giants practice squad, per Bill Huber.
The Giants drafted Riley in the 7th round two years ago, and he has played in 21 games with five starts over the last two seasons. The third year pro played in eight games as a rookie and 13 games last year, when he started five games and had 12 tackles, including three tackles for losses.
Riley doesn't offer much by way of rushing the quarterback but could certainly help the defensive tackle rotation on early downs to help keep the Packers linebackers clean.

Lets hope he can be a positive force against the run. Big body guy who hopefully has improved. Only time will tell.

Bring Wilkins in if foot good for a short cheap rental he can' help be of a help now. Hopefully his locker room antics taught him a lesson and be a good add to locker room. Who knows might be good enough to bring back next years as well if he plays and acts well.

Hey as long as he can provide some contributions to stopping the run, then he is worth the flyer.

6-5, 338. How can he not be at least serviceable vs the run?

If he is the Giants couldn't make it work. They need more help in that area than the Packers.

If this guy was good vs the run he would have been on the roster of the Giants. They can't stop any one from running the ball on them. I wouldn't have high expectations there.

Maybe, but sometimes it's coaching, scheme and/or culture change needed to unlock a player's talents and potential.

Anything can happen but I doubt all that turns around in week 14 and helps us this year. He is a body they can rotate in. I wouldn't have high expectations from a PS squad player who couldn't crack the roster of a bad unit.

Argh
Hopefully Covington can coach him up to an acceptable level. (“Pad level” joke mercifully withheld.)
