Packers Practice Report: Safety Morgan Burnett Sits Out

Burnett appeared to limp off the field in Packers' recent game against the Panthers.

Safety Morgan Burnett was one of four Packers players to sit out of the first practice of the week on Wednesday in Green Bay, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, who was in attendance at Clarke Hinkle Field:

Burnett appeared to limp off the field under his own power during this past Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

The exact nature of Burnett's injury has not been addressed by the Packers organization, although he should be listed on the team's injury report released later on Wednesday.

Head coach Mike McCarthy will also have a post-practice press conference at approximately 1:35 p.m. CT.

It could perhaps be viewed as a good sign that both Burnett and Sam Shields were able to take part in warmups. Shields was on the Packers' inactive list for the game against the Panthers with a knee injury.

James Starks missed his first practice since dropping out of the Panthers game with an ankle injury, while Datone Jones has missed the past two games for the Packers.

The good news for the Packers was that cornerback Davon House appeared to be practicing after dislocating his finger this past Sunday.
