The Green Bay Packers silence the San Francisco Bang Bang Niner Gang.

RB Josh Jacobs had his third career three rushing TD game and became the first Green Bay Packer since Dorsey Levens to have three TD and 100 YDS rushing in a game. The 28 point victory is the most by the Packers over the 49ers in their NFC rivalry matchup ever. QB Jordan Love went 13/23 throwing for 163 YDS with two TD and the Green Bay defense forced three turnovers including two turnover on downs. In case you missed it, here is the recap:

The 49ers won the toss but deferred to the Packers to start with the ball. On second-and-10 at the GB 33, a hand off to RB Jacobs in shotgun formation lead to an 18-yard gain up the middle. RB Jacobs followed up with another first down run picking up 12 yards into SF territory. On third-and-4 at the SF 31, QB Love found an open WR Reed on a short fade route for the first down. After a 9-yard gain by RB Jacobs setting up third-and-1, RB Emmanuel Wilson pushed the offensive line forward for a first down. On second-and-7, QB Love on the option pass found TE Tucker Kraft who rumbled and stumbled his way into the end zone for an 11-yard touchdown. K Brandon McManus made the extra point bringing the score to GB 7 SF 0 with 7:35 left in the first quarter.

Starting at their own 32, the 49ers first play from scrimmage was a 9-yard pitch from starting QB Brandon Allen to TE George Kittle. This was QB Allen’s first start since 2021. After a false start penalty and stopping RB Christian McCaffrey for a 1-yard gain, the Packers defense was able to bring pressure on third down with LB Quay Walker getting the sack. SF P Pat O’Donnel punted to the GB 19. RB Jacobs was able to pick up the first down gain on third-and-2 putting him over 50 yards rushing already on 8 carries. On first-and-10, RB Wilson found space on the outside with a hard shoulder pounding 19-yard run to the SF 33. The 49ers brought an all-out blitz on third-and-9 forcing an incompletion by QB Love setting up a successful 51-yard field goal by K McManus threading the needle through the post. The score was GB 10 SF 0 with 11 seconds left in the first quarter as the final play was a 3-yard run by RB McCaffrey that was negated by an offensive holding penalty.

The total yards comparison in the first quarter was GB 126 to SF 8 yards (87 rushing yards compared to 1). On second-and-15, LB Walker dropped what was sure to be an interception. The GB defense was able to stop the 49ers on third down as S Javon Bullard tackled TE Kittle 7 yards short of the first down forcing SF to punt after their second straight three and out. Starting from their own 29, GB had a 6-yard gain with a handoff to WR Bo Melton. After a false start penalty pushed the Packers back to third-and-11, QB Love found a wide open WR Romeo Doubs for 29-yard gain.  On third-and-10 at the SF 28, QB Love connected with WR Doubs again for the first down on a 15-yard slant route. After back-to-back 12 men on the field penalties by SF, RB Jacobs was able to power his way into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown. K McManus nailed the extra point increasing the lead to GB 17 SF 0 with 6:33 left in the second quarter.

The 49ers were able to pick up their first first down of the game after a 14-yard completion from QB Allen to FB Kyle Juszczyk to the SF 49. After a 9-yard first down completion to RB McCaffrey, QB Allen threw a screen to WR Deebo Samuel who picked up 21 yards. Another SF false start penalty set up third-and-6 at the GB 14 as the clock hit the two minute warning. SF was able to convert the first down with an 8-yard completion to TE Kittle on the sideline. On third-and-goal (DT Rashan Gary was not on the field), QB Allen had time in the pocket to find a wide open TE Kittle for a 3-yard touchdown. K Jake Moody made the extra point as the score was now GB 17 SF 7 with 1:02 left in the second quarter.

RB Jacobs continued to put the Pack on his back as he gained 21-yards to the SF 49 on back to back runs. WR Christin Watson dropped a sure touchdown with a perfect pass from QB Love (ouch). The Packers drive came to an end after QB Love threw two more long incompletions (refs missed a defensive pass interference call on third down). P Daniel Whelan punted for the first time leading to a QB Allen knee concluding the first half with the score GB 17 SF 0.

The second half started with a bang as an 87-yard kick return by WR Samuel was negated by a holding on SF that brought the ball back to their 21. The Niners started to get the run game going after first down runs by RB McCaffrey and RB Jordan Mason. On third-and-8 at the GB 46, QB Allen scrambled four yards setting up fourth-and-2. SF decided to go for it as QB Allen threw a high but catchable pass to RB McCaffrey broken up by S Xavier McKinney for the turnover on downs. After another GB drop, this time by WR Doubs, GB found themselves at third-and-7. DE Leonard Floyd was able to get to QB Love for the sack forcing GB to punt on another three and out for the offense. P Whelan punted 48-yards and a holding penalty put SF at their own 10.

The Packers defense continued to leave TE Kittle open for some reason as QB Allen completed a 31-yard catch and run before being tackled at the GB 47. On third-and-8, QB Allen threw a tight pass in traffic that bounced off the hands of WR Samuel and landed into the arms of S McKinney who returned it 48 yards to the SF 26. After runs by WR Watson and RB Jacobs setting up third-and-2, QB Love threw a pass that was almost caught by WR Doubs in the end zone as S Renardo Green was called for a pass interference (WR Doubs was injured on the play ruled out for a concussion). On the next play first-and-goal at the 1, RB Jacobs pushed the pile running into the end zone for another Lambeau Leap. K McManus made the extra point as the score was now GB 24 SF 7 with 4:29 left in the third quarter.

In need for a scorning drive, the 49ers offense came out throwing the ball with a 20-yard catch by WR Jennings then 21-yard catch by TE Kittle to the GB 33-yard line. QB Allen threw a laser incompletion intended for TE Eric Saubert setting up a successful 48-yard field goal by K Moody bringing the score to GB 24 SF 10 with 2:12 left in the third quarter. As the snow started to fall at Lambeau with the temperature hitting 4 degrees, GB started at their own 30 looking to keep their foot on the gas. After QB Love almost threw an interception and a personal foul tripping penalty was called on RB Chris Brooks, the Packers found themselves at third-and-25. QB love completed a short pass to RB Brooks for a 15-yard gain setting up a booming 59-yard punt by P Whelan. A holding penalty on the return put SF at their own 21-yard line. The final play of the third quarter was a run for a 1-yard loss by RB McCaffrey setting up third-and-11.

Packers' DC Jeff Hafley called a blitz package as the GB pressure forced QB Allen to throw the ball away for an incompletion. WR Reed returned the 56-yard punt 13 yards to the GB 37. RB Jacobs was able to pick up 5 yards on first down putting him over 100 yards for the day. On third-and-4, QB Love was sacked by DE Floyd (almost fumbling the ball) as the Niners D once again forced a three and out. The punt by P Whelan put SF at their own 10-yard line. After an offsides by DT Kenny Clark put the Niners at first-and-5, he found redemption with a fumble recovery as DE Lukas Van Ness got the strip sack. After a 15-yard catch and leap by TE Kraft setting up first-and-goal at the 1, RB Jacobs hit the hat trick for his third rushing touchdown of the game. K McManus made the extra point increasing the lead to GB 31 SF 10 with 10:59 left in the fourth quarter.

On the first play of the SF drive, QB Allen threw a screen to RB McCaffrey who got the ball punched out by CB Keisean Nixon recovered by DE Karl Brooks at the GB 44. QB Love started spreading the ball around with first down completions to WR Dontayvion Wicks and WR Malik Heath to the SF 18. QB Love was able to pick up a first down on fourth-and-1 on a QB Sneak setting up first-and-goal at the SF 7. After a 4-yard run by RB Wilson, QB Love found WR Heath in the end zone for his first receiving touchdown of the year as K McManus made the extra point bringing the score to GB 38 SF 10 with 4:14 left in the fourth quarter.

SF started at their own 30 in desperation mode going for it on fourth-and-5, but the GB defense stepped up stopping SF short of a first down with a beautiful tackle by S Evan Williams for the turnover on downs silencing the "Bang Bang Niner Gang". GB brought in QB Malik Willis and relied on RB Wilson and Brooks to run the clock down. The final score was GB 38 SF 10.

This was the biggest beatdown of the 49ers, by the Packers, in our history. Not Lombardi. Not Holmgren. Not McCarthy.

Yes, it was good to see "not good enough" Nixon strip that ball. Just like it was good to see "not good enough" Van Ness cause a fumble and 'not good enough' Clark fall on it.

The team is building to a peak. We're 8-3 and will probably finish no worse than 12-5. I'll be interested to see what the haters fixate on to try to make me believe this isn't a good team.

It will become ever more apparent who the trolls from other teams are, by their ever more desperate arguments.

Also, do you suppose those Aaron Jones crybabies will finally see that the running back position has actually been upgraded?
