Packers Calendar: Sam Shields Goes Through Concussion Protocol

Following an extra day off from work because of the upcoming Monday Night Football game, the Green Bay Packers will hold their first practice of the week on Thursday in preparation for the Atlanta Falcons.

One player to monitor will be cornerback Sam Shields, who will be going through the league-mandated protocol after suffering a concussion in the game against the New England Patriots.

Shields exited the game after lowering his head, attempting to make a tackle in the first half.

Whether Shields will be able to return in time for practice is yet to be seen, although he may have benefitted from the extra time off.

Linebacker Jamari Lattimore also suffered an ankle injury in the Patriots game and will be listed on the team's first injury report of the week when it's released Thursday afternoon.

Head coach Mike McCarthy may have updates in his press conference, which will stream live at 1:35 p.m. CT on Packers.com.

During the evening hours, defensive back Micah Hyde will host 1 on 1 with the Boys at 6:00 p.m. on 101.1 FM WIXX in Green Bay, welcoming a player guest.

The show will stream online with audio at WIXX.com and video on the station's Ustream channel.
