Packers Calendar: Divisional Round Opponent Determined

The Lions take on the Cowboys at 3:40 p.m. CT on Sunday.

The Carolina Panthers beat the Arizona Cardinals 27-16 in the wildcard round of the playoffs on Saturday, bringing down the Green Bay Packers' possible opponent in the playoffs to two.

On Sunday the Packers will be watching the other wildcard game on the NFC side of the bracket to finalize their next opponent.

"I'm a fan of the game of football," said head coach Mike McCarthy. "But yes, definitely, I'll watch the NFC games with an interest, and really, the AFC games too."

The Dallas Cowboys host the Detroit Lions for a 3:40 p.m. CT kickoff, televised on Fox.

If the Cowboys win, the Packers will welcome Dallas to Lambeau Field on Sunday Jan. 11.

And if the Lions win, the Packers will host the Panthers in the divisional round of the playoffs.

McCarthy indicated the coaches will be watching the NFC game today and then formulating their gameplan afterwards to be introduced to the players on Monday.

I see Dallas coming to GB. Stafford and the lolions are 0-16 against winning teams on the road. Glad the Pack has Lacy because they're gonna need him now. He's rested and healthy and the o-line is playing lights out. No excuses, take care of the ball and go all the way.

Well, better dust off the Carolina scouting reports. Not over yet, but Detroit looks solid.

Never mind. The NFL is determined to get Dallas the win because they want that Green Bay-Dallas match-up. The picked-up pass interference flag was egregiously obvious.

I'm wondering if the league prefers the Packers or the Cowboys to win. I'm guessing the officiating will be tilted in Dallas' favor. The key for the Pack, then, is to make sure this game IS.NOT.CLOSE. Don't give Jerry Jones and the NFL a chance to screw the Pack.

That game was ridiculously tilted the cowboys' way.

I didn't see it that way. A lot of iffy calls went against Dallas too. The ref crew is toast.

I know the weather will play a part, but I don't see the Cowgirls getting much pressure on Rodgers (if we decide t throw a lot) and I hope they dare the Pack to run by playing Cover 2 majority of the game.

1st playoff meeting in Lambeau field since the ice bowl. Go Panthers and have the NFCCG in GB after stomping the Cowboys.

Yeah, I guess I'm conspiracy theorist. First, we had Suh decision reversed. Definitely a ratings move. Now, we have a referee tell another official, "hey, you can't throw a flag against the 'boys like that!". Definitely no league manipulation this week. All fair and square.

The official explanation by the umpire was face guarding, which isn't a penalty.

Agreed, I'd never watch another game if I thought it was rigged. There are always going to be bad calls in every game. This call didn't decide the outcome of the game. Detroit had 2:32 left on the clock to go down the field and fumbled twice. Also they did pretty much nothing in the 2nd half. The 10 yard punt didn't help either. They had 2 chances to go for it on 4th and very short and punted. Dallas converted a 4th and 6.

Do you think they'd have picked up the flag if the roles were reversed? Yeah, didn't think so.
