Packers awarded a safety and tight end on waivers

No word yet on the corresponding moves necessary to make room on the 53 man roster

The Packers were awarded two played off waivers following yesterday's league wide roster cuts.

Safety Zayne Anderson from the Buffalo Bills and tight end Ben Sims from the Minnesota Vikings will begin 2023 on the Packers 53 man roster.

Anderson entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of BYU who spent the 2021 season with the Kansas City Cheifs prior to his stint in Buffalo.

The 6' 4", 250 lb Sims joined the Vikings as an undrafted free agent this past spring. Sims spent five years at Baylor, where his 12 career touchdown catches are a school record for a tight end.

The Packers will need to release two players, or possibly place a guy or two on injured reserve, to open up the roster spots for Anderson and Sims.

I guess I should have waited a min or two. I just asked this on Al's column.

Still don't know how much time they have to do it. Some think 24hrs?

There's not many positions on this team that I don't feel great about. This team is loaded with young talent across the board. The exceptions to this list: proven depth at TE and S. I don't think these guys are going to help much. Lol
