Packers 31 Lions 24 Game Balls & Lame Calls
The Packers complete a season sweep of the Lions, securing significant playoff positioning along the way.
By Kalani Jones
Now that we've eaten the turkey, cleaned the dishes, and done some serious digesting, it's time to soak in a huge win from the Packers.
They're now at 8-3-1 on the season, and could reclaim the top spot later tonight with an Eagles win over the Bears. The Packers have officially avenged the season sweep they suffered at the hands of the Lions last season, and repaid it in kind. It's only week 13, but the Lion's loss puts them into a seriously compromised position in the crowded NFC playoff race. With the Cowboys surging and the rest of the wild card field keeping pace, the Lions' chances of making the playoffs dropped to 55%, and 11% on the season.
The Packers, meanwhile, stand with a 93% chance to make the playoffs, and a 68% chance to win the division. They're 2-0 through this crucial divisional stretch of their season, with two match ups against the Bears, another contest with the Vikings, and a home match against the Ravens, who suddenly look very human.
Game Balls
Dontayvion Wicks / Jordan Love
The first game ball has to go to the man with the career game, of course.
Two touchdowns. Two other clutch conversions, including the game winner. Six catches on seven targets, producing 94 yards along the way. Not too shabby. Wicks showed off a sliver of the talent that had Packers fans so excited to see more of him.
Not only does this game mark an impressive milestone in Dontayvion Wicks' career, it's also a testament to the ideal version of the Packers offense. This is still a dangerous, efficient offense, and it draws a lot of those trait from the depth of it's pass catchers room. The fact that any one of these receivers can be the one who goes off is a nightmare for opposing defenses. I know a lot of the conversation over the last year around this spot has centered around the search for that #1, "alpha" receiver, but it's important to remember that this facet is largely by design.
When opposing defenses don't have a #1 target to zero in on, especially in those big "gotta have it moments", it's something different that defense need to prepare for. It's another thing for the defense to study, to prepare for. In the National Football League, any amount of time that you can force your opponent to do that is a win. Do the Packers still need a #1 receiver? Maybe. Maybe not. For my money, we already have one. He wears #9 and goes by Christian Watson.
Jordan Love, for his part, had himself an absolute game. 234 yards, four touchdowns, no sacks, 124.2 rating, and a 93.9 PFF grade. Clutch throws all over the field. Absolute dawg. The holiday season is here, and by that I mean Toyotathon.
Micah Parsons
Send Dallas another seven first round picks. Give Micah another extension on top of the one we just gave him. It doesn't matter. He's worth it.
Six pressures, three hurries, four QB hits, and 2.5 sacks. He won 22% of his pass rush reps, and had another tackle for loss. He's a motor for this entire defense, he's what makes it into a Super Bowl caliber unit.
Compare his performance to his counterpart on the other sideline, Aiden Hutchinson. In the two game Hutch played Green Bay this year, he's compiled six tackles, zero TFL, zero sacks, zero pressures, and one qb hit.
The Packers have the best pass rusher in the NFC North and the NFC at large. Don't forget it, ,don't forget what he gives to this defense, and don't forget what this defense gives the Packers: the chance to win every single game it plays.
Matt LaFleur
For a coach who has faced his fair share of scrutiny, MLF sure is on a bit of a heater.
For three games in a row, he's coached his absolute ass off. This may have been LaFleur's best coached game of the season, too. I thought he let Love properly air the ball out, while still maintaining an effective running game. As mentioned, the offensive line made Aiden Hutchinson into a complete non-factor, and kept Love completely clean.
Most importantly however, was the fourth down conversions. Quite literally.
Total Plays: Packers 60, Lions 60
Total Yards: Packers 359, Lions 352
Passing Yards: Packers 234, Lions 233
Rushing Yards: Packers 125, Lions119
Penalty Yards: Packers 20, Lions 22
4th Down Conversions: Packers 3/3, Lions 0/2
LaFleur beat Dan Campbell at his own game on Thanksgiving, and those two touchdowns on fourth down attempts were among the most clutch the Packers have scored all season.
Lame Calls
Rich Bisaccia
I just don't get it, man.
The Packers are up to three penalties on opening kickoffs. Seven penalties on kickoffs in general. Inexcusable.
Over and over, Brandon McManus kicks the ball into the endzone, giving the Lions possession of the ball at the 35. Inexcusable.
Still unable to run north/south on punt returns, instead of dancing around for a >5 yard return. Inexcusable.
Perhaps it's my fault for giving the special teams a game ball last week, but it's just grating at this point.
Isiah McDuffie
This might be a bit of nitpicking, but McDuffie looked pretty rough out there today. In pass coverage, the Lions were constantly dropping hooks right behind him. McDuffie struggled to get to depth on those drops, and it was most obvious on that first Lions TD drive, where they constantly found success in the middle of the field. Walkers return against the Ben Johnson led Bears next week might go along way to helping fill those gaps.
Three and Out
-- Today's Phrase of the Game is "Out in Front". That's where the Packers were all game, and that's where this team is designed to play from. "No s**t, Kalani", I can hear you all saying.
It's true though. Allowing this Packers defense to play with the lead really does unlock a different version of themselves. The front can be a little more aggressive, be in it in pass rush or filling rushing lanes. The offense can pick and choose their moments to be aggressive, instead of having to force those moments to organically happen within the structure of the offense. This is still the youngest team in the NFL, and getting out to an early lead can be huge for their mindset. I mention this because, after nearly two months of going scoreless in opening drives, the Packers followed up last week's touchdown with a field goal today. It's not the end all be all, of course, but those little details are so important in the ultimate game of inches.
-- Injuries: At this point in the season, every game must be measured with the caveat of "Who did you lose in the process?" In the Packers' case, there was a pretty sizable loss to go along with the win. Devonte Wyatt suffered an ankle injury, with the possibility of "significant" ligament damage. Whether or not he will be able to return this season is still to be determined, but the hole that he will leave on the iDL is not. In his absence, Karl Brooks and Colby Wooden will need to play their best football. It's also possible that the team might need to seek a free agent addition for some depth.
Xavier McKinney and Edgerrin Cooper left and returned to the game with injuries, and we'll have to keep a close eye on the injury report this week to see if their names pop up. Hopefully having the weekend off to rehab will allow them to be active next weekend.
-- It's officially bear hunting season in Wisconsin.
The Bears will come into Green Bay next Sunday, and as I mentioned, they have a game tonight against the Eagles. If Chicago wants to shake off the "fraud" moniker, a win against the defending champion in their own house would go a long way. Of course, a loss would put the Bears into the wild card chase. Regardless, next weeks Packers-Bears contest will significantly impact determining the NFC North champion, now that the Packers have a firm advantage over the Lions.

It could come to that, but we might want to pump the brakes. I would like it noted that since he joined the team, he has appeared in 55 out of a possible 63 games, mostly as a starter. He's been available, and he contributes about four receptions/game. He's found the endzone 20 times.
There is no other WR on this team that has shown himself to be more reliable or productive than Doubs. I think Watson and Reed are both good WRs for us, but Doubs has been the guy on the field. Not Golden, not Williams, not Wicks.
Remember, everybody that you release has to be replaced. We already are missing our #1 pick, we could lose guys like Walker, Walker, Wyatt, and Rhyan, Jenkins. Let's not be too eager to give away good players.

Sheed - gone for the compensatory, likely a third.
Quay - signed, but to a longer-term deal for less than the amount of the 5th year option (due to the fact that 5th year option includes edge that bumps up the price too high for a MLB).
Wyatt - got the 5th year option. Too bad he's going to be missing several games of it.
Rhyan - could be re-signed because he's off to a great start at center, probably his best spot, but doesn't have enough starts to make his price too high.
Jenkins - gone, too old. Might get a decent compensatory, but he didn't have that great of a year going even before his injury.
Doubs - very productive, but gone due to all the depth vs. the cost to re-sign. Reed has been the most productive, reliable and explosive receiver until his injury this year. Watson is back and better than ever, Wicks just gets open. Golden will be a stud and Savion could be very good, too. All of them together for the price it will take to ink Doubs next year. Another great compensatory. I'll miss Doubs, but he's gone.

Now factor in Doubs' little vacation last year. That alone could've cost him his next contract in GB.

The first word of the article is a typo. It should be "Now," not "Not."
Isaiah McDuffie is like a shortstop who is a solid fielder but lacks range. He makes very few errors, but there are a lot of balls he doesn't get to. Quay Walker makes obvious mistakes, but he clogs up passing lanes when he drops into coverage, and he gets to the edge quickly on running plays that go wide. I'll be glad to see him back on the field.
That statistical comparison between the teams is interesting. It didn't feel that close. Once the Packers got a 10-0 lead, there was only one time when the Lions had the ball with a chance to take the lead. That was their opening possession of the second half, when they got stopped on 4th down. Two plays later, Jordan Love hit Christian Watson on that 51-yard bomb to get it back to a two-score lead.
I think Jordan Love may be not just a good QB, but a great QB. There. I said it. But of course he will need some postseason success to really get into that conversation.

Your take on Love is a good one. Few of his completions are to wide open receivers. Under pressure, he is making tight window throws for the money. It would be nice to see more separation by our pass catchers. Hoping that Golden and Reed will be those guys going forward.

November 28, 2025 at 05:26 pm
At least twice Watson had to slow down considerably b/c Love underthrew the ball. They need some time playing catch so Love can take true advantage of his speed on a consistent basis.
SicSemperTyrannis
November 29, 2025 at 07:18 am
This is why I want to see #0 9 & 11 on the field together. Give JL10 a chance to sync up with that much speed instead of expecting him to be able to do that with such a wide variety of route runners. If he can consistently put the ball where they run top speed to get it and are hit in stride this offense becomes unstoppable.

Yes! I didn't think it felt that close, either, and when I reviewed the sheet I saw that the difference in the game was on the 4th down plays.
I use that same measuring stick: When did your opponent snap the ball for the last time with a chance to tie or take the lead?
Love? If you apply the Bart Starr standard, which is you don't make mistakes that hurt the team, then Love checked off a lot of boxes yesterday. Even that crazy-ass fumble that he picked up and then threw it to a guy who dropped it didn't end in a turnover. 4 TD passes . Was he perfect? No, but he was damn sure good enough to win with.
The Packers are the best team in the league at 3rd down conversions, and they are 3rd in the league in redzone percentage. Overall, we're not scoring like an elite offense, but on third down and in the redzone, that's what we are.
WestCoastPackerBacker
November 28, 2025 at 05:54 pm
With no turnovers in the game, stopping DET on their 4th down attempts is almost as good as a TO. And GB was the opposite, fully successful on 4th down, to the tune of two TDs and a game winning 1st down catch by Wicks. That was the difference in the game.

Nothing better than victory Monday along with a victory Friday in the same week. That was a solid game against a solid opponent. Goff played well and if St. Brown hadn't left the game it may have been even tighter. But you have to tip your toque to Love and the offense for responding on each occasion and keeping it a two score game. The 4th down conversion at the end of the game was total balls. The smallest of windows and both our guys executed. Remarkable. If that O-line continues to mesh this offense could take the next step.
I have been hard on the coaching because of the inconsistency and under performance in certain areas but kudos for having this team ready for the main stage. Going into the Lion's den and stealing their turkey is huge.

I really dislike Johnson and his cocky attitude, he needs to brought down a few notches and two losses in a row, starting today, would be a good start towards that.

Philly crapping the bed so far against Chicago at almost halftime.
Listless...
Philly fans don't have a lot of tolerance for this kind of stuff. They wanted Sirianni's head after 2023 when they fell apart down the stretch and they won 11 that year.

Big mistake with that in-house OC promotion that has yet to be rectified. Not the same team with personnel losses, but they still should be doing better then they are.

Read some Lions fans comments on the Pride of Detroit site and they want Campbell fired and the GM, too, for not bringing in more pass rush this off season. And for the OC promotion. Their comments sound like GB fans after a Packer loss. Fire Gutey, fire LaFleur. Then this week, MLF looks brilliant and aggressive and those voices are (temporarily) silent.
I'm sure. happy they let Jordan Love loose yesterday. Happy he was healthy enough to do his thing. He's really taking care of the ball AND hitting some big-time throws in pressure situations. Including literal pressure.

agree with most of this article except slamming MacDuffie, who brings real energy to the field. He hits hard, makes stops. and he had another good game. I actually prefer him to Walker who is no better in pass coverage, and he is better against the run.

November 28, 2025 at 08:02 am
I didn't understand the lame ball for McDuffie either. I thought he played well against the run first Lions. Stopping the Lions rushing attack is the key to slowing down the Lions potent offense and taking them out of their play action passing game. McDuffie is a liability in the passing game and I think Walker is better versus the pass, but McDuffie is very solid against the run and that is priority one versus the Lions.

Of course they think long and hard about every contract negotiation. Quay's athleticism is elite but he still gets fooled on some plays. Cooper on the field with him has him frequently adjusting to the play better. I don't understand having #7 wear the green dot, I think this team gets better with both of them on the field but Cooper with the green dot. This is also the time of year when having Eric Wilson on the roster sure would be nice.

McDuffie is the one who initially stopped the Lions RB on 4th and 3, hard to say without him if Parsons would’ve been able to stop him as he was getting blocked. McDuffie filled the hole and was squared up to the RB. Great play in the game.

Great win vs excellent opponent on the road.
Many individually exceptional performances, as noted by Kehlani.
Lame call - i'm not an mlf hater, just a critic. The clock management at end of 1st half allowed enough time for lions' to pull it to within 3.
If we run the ball a few times, complete one or two, short (high %) passes in bounds, we eat precious seconds, forcing DC to use his to's.
A couple of first downs, with our punter and defense playing so well, and we force them to travel full length, with no TO's.
Same situation at end of game. Run the damn ball.
We have a two minute offense ready when we need to score points.
He needs to be prepared with a plan to eat time.
Mlf loves talking complimentary football.
He isn't able to coach a complimentary game IMO.
I'll say it, great win thanks to many individual great performances. But, our Emperor has no clothes during end of game scenarios.
Vote down if you want. If you're able to rewatch our last possessions of each half, you'll likely agree.
Get some rest. Best of luck to DWyatt and other casualties.
Next week we can send the cubs into early hibernation where they belong!

You nailed it on clock management, mnbadger, I was screaming at my TV!
I think part of the problem is that Jacobs isn't 100% and MLF, for whatever reason was hesitant to go back to the horse they rode to the win last weekend, Williams!
Also, despite the Packers leaving center field wide open almost all the time, MLF rarely uses it for those 3-5 yard first down passes that are as good as a run. Why is that, its the 'West Coast/Shanahan" Offense?

Only you said three handoffs and a punt.
Offensive geniuses, as many have called our HC, and even c+ students, are better prepared than we are when leading and trying to close the door.

You did include short passes as an option, sorry about that. The Lions are an aggressive team, though, and I doubt they would be giving enough cushion to allow those easy short passes to work. I still prefer the priority to be picking up first downs instead of bleeding the clock in case you have to punt. The Lions offense is explosive, they were moving the ball all day, and I wouldn't want them to get the ball back unless the time left was almost nothing.
I would also like to see Malik Willis get some opportunities in short yardage situations, but that's debatable. Taking your best player (Jordan Love) off the field in a crucial situation can backfire. The only coach I can remember who did stuff like that was Sean Payton, when he was with the Saints and he had Taysom Hill as the backup QB. It didn't always work.

Good analysis. I have been pounding the table that MLF needs an Assistnet HC to help in game with Game Management. I know that we already have a coach designated as this (Rich B), but our Special Teams coach cannot be the Assistant to the HC if his department needs constant attention (with no real consistent results).

I'd give a game ball to the O-line. Keeping Love clean all game and neutralizing Hutchinson are major accomplishments. Banks had his second good game in a row and seems to be finally getting past his injuries and playing to his contract. Rhyan is proving to be a surprisingly serviceable center and I think has outplayed Jenkins. Belton is coming along as a guard and is a better people mover than Morgan. The O-line is gelling which bodes well for the offense. The weapons are there and if the O-line finally asserts itself, this offense is going to be dangerous down the stretch.

Aided and abetted by media hysterics and knucklehead fans, bad teams dwell on what players can’t do rather than what they do well. To focus on what McDuffie does against the pass and overlook his play against the run is to do exactly that. Gibbs won the game for Detroit last week. Against the Packers he was ineffective . Slapping the lame call label on McDuffie smacks of prejudice. Let’s hope the team sees the whole picture.

Game Balls: MLF, Love, Wicks and Parsons
Lame Balls: Valentine's poor tackling -he was responsible for @ least 1 Detroit TD.

Valentine played the screen perfectly, all he had to do was wrap up his legs. Help was on the way. Just wrap up the friggin ball carrier instead of trying to knock him over. I hope Hafley makes him hit the tackling dummy 50 times on Monday.
Don't agree with McDuffie's lame call. The D held Gibbs in check and he was a big part of that.
Absolutely hate that Wyatt got injured. He was really starting to affect the games. Bummer.

Valentine can cover and he cannot tackle. What is it with NFL players who believe all you need to do is hit a ball carrier below his waist and they will automatically fall over. This isn't bowling!
But did I mention the kid can shadow a receiver? Packers found a starting CB who needs to watch every video of a Sir Charles Woodson tackle.

These guys like Barkley and Williams are hard to tackle. They're bigger and stronger than Valentine. We don't want him to be broken on the sidelines. Still, all he had to do was hold onto the guy's leg like a horny doberman until his teammates show up.
Tramon Williams is a guy that comes to mind. He was out there to cover people, not to get trampled trying to tackle a guy. And teams did go after him at times...I remember a Bears game where the Bears said they didn't hold his tackling in very high regard.
Valentine has one more year under contract after this season.

Jameson Williams weighs 180 pounds. He is elusive, but that didn't come into play because Valentine hit him when he was at a dead stop. Plus Valentine was more likely to hurt himself by going for the big hit than by just grabbing ahold of him and hanging on.

You got a dog on offense: Love
You got a dog on defense: Micah
That bodes well for making a run.
I do have to be a bit negative and comment: Why the hell are we trotting out a injured Jacobs and yet Reed and Golden are still on the bench riding injuries? WTH is going on with those 2? MLF is so secretive. Reed especially. We really are getting strung along. Just call Reed out for the year already and stop playing games.

Reed and Golden didn't play because they are injured. Why do you think that's so mysterious? Do you think they're healthy, but they are being held out of the games for some reason? Why would the team do that? Neither of them has been practicing full-time. Also, I'm not sure what you thought the problem was with Josh Jacobs. He looked as good as ever yesterday. And I'm confident that the Packers aren't going to rule Jayden Reed out for the year just to ease your troubled mind.

#8 tore it up on a few plays, but he's clearly not 100%. He also had a big scare with his knee, but fortunately came back into the game. This can be the type of thing that gets worse with swelling over the next few days; continuing his workload can see him become less effective for the rest of the season. Or, it might not be that big of a deal. We won't really know and medical evaluations do not trump a player's own honesty with themselves. Love the outcome, but still can’t agree with the final drive. Both 3rd and 4th down were well covered and could have gone either way. Run it on 3rd down and burn the clock. If the Lions stuff you , punt on 4th down. If you make a nice gain and have 4th and short it opens up the playbook. You could even run the quick outs we had success with at the goal line. If the Lions had tile outs left, I would think differently about punting.
Great throw and catch on 4th down. However, if that pass isn’t complete, Lions have great field position and about 1:30 left. This forum would be going crazy.
One other thought. I didn’t see Detroit triple Micah like MN did, just lots of doubles. Didn’t it seem like another d-lineman should have success against MN while they tripled Micah. Didn’t really see that.

Can't believe they finally called an aggressive game and executed successfully and you're complaining about play calling. GB needs to be able to make those exact kinds of plays in pressure situations if they want to make and be successful in the playoffs. I'm glad they went for it and got it and got that kind of confidence builder. They had good calls against the man defense all day. When you've got good players, you have to trust them to make the plays. They did that.

Game Balls:
Wicks (of course); Parsons (seems like he’s really good…and I’m glad I convinced Guty to make the trade); the Oline is fast improving.
Lame:
Valentine’s critical missed tackle on Williams.
The refs non PI call on Watson and the very nit picky PI call against us.
Will someone step up as a valid replacement for Wyatt?
I think we score 38 vs the Bears.

"Game Balls:"
You forgot one: Game ball to the officials for not calling the false-start and instead allowing GB to have a retro-active timeout AFTER the false-start.
You forgot 2: the college-rules 1-foot-inbounds touchdown the officials gave GB.
Seriously, MLF should send the officials 2 gameballs. They fought for a GB win more than some of the GB starters.

Well, you’re absolutely wrong about the TD reception; he was clearly in. I can’t argue with the T/O—that was close. But most often they give the benefit of the doubt to the coaches calling time out.

In the time out, MLF was calling for it verbally long before he gestured for it; probably the biggest mistake he made in the whole game.

Right foot on the ground when the ball is caught, then the left foot, then the right foot again just going out of bounds. But two feet in, for sure. Almost 3 feet.
Players make mistakes, coaches make mistakes, and officials make mistakes. But there's only one kind of person who whines about it.

Wicks had control of the ball when his first foot went down, and kept control when the second foot went down. It was the third step that went out of bounds.
They may have missed the call on the false start, though the refs said the TO call came first. But they REALLY missed the pass interference when Branch held Watson's arm and he had to try a one-armed catch. Please include that in your analysis. And the every down hold on Parsons? Don't forget about that either.
The refs didn't cause Jameson Williams to drop that 4th down pass. They didn't cause the DET offensive line to give up all the sacks either.

Two PI against Watson, both by Branch. If they had called the 1st when Branch blew Watson off his feet at the one, GB wouldn't have needed Wicks' great two feet down.
Also on the t.o., did you not catch the sideline reporter saying he and the side judge heard MLF yelling for t.o. well before he made the hand gesture? He should gesture sooner since it was loud and they might not have heard it.
Here's another one to chew on. On 2nd and 19 when Gibbs picked up 13 and Cooper got hurt? The reason Cooper got hurt was a WR blocked him in the back for 4 yards into a Det teammate. And Valentine was hooked by a lineman at about 7 yards. A two-fer non-call.
And how about all the holds on Parsons with Brady laughing it off saying how else are going to stop him? Tom wouldn't have laughed if it happened to his D.

With everybody taking about blind refs I'm surprised nobody's talking about not calling perpetual holding against Micah Parsons. We should be able to fine the league for unsportsmanlike conduct!

Agree w/much of the article and I don't know for sure but I felt those touchbacks in the 1st half were strategic in nature. GB did not want an explosive return to ruin their game plan. I was pretty sure after they started kicking into the target area that mission was accomplished. The penalties on KOR drive me nuts as well but the unscripted nature of this play leads to some of this.
I thought both teams not having their top TE and receiving threats did a good job of overcoming their losses and it was the play of the lesser threats that balanced the game The TE battle was a wash but Wicks was better than Tesala (although he has a bright future) and that was the story of the game.
The parity of the running game was also important b/c the Lions backfield should of had a great advantage at home and was a strong factor in the win.

Game Ball: How about Rasheed Walker: Saves the day with the fumble recovery. Could have been a different game if we don't score that TD. Besides, he spent the game corralling the Lions' #1 pass rusher. What was his name again? Aidan something.
Lame calls: 2 on me. I thought we oughta kick on both 4th downs, especially the last one. I'd a let Whelan punt 'em deep and play prevent D. Guess that's how much I know.

LOL!!! The level of delusion in the posts above is comical.
I'm neither a Lions fan or Packers fan so I can be fairly objective here. The officials got GB that win.
The 'time-traveling timeout' was a comical level of blatant favoritism for GB, with the 'college rules touchdown' a competitive second.
In a season where the quality of the officiating has been generally agreed-on as not meeting the standards the NFL should demand, this game stands out on how poorly it was called and how blatantly it tilted the scales in favor of 1 team, in this case GB.
I'm genuinely concerned about the future of the NFL if officials can't even get the basics down on things like timeout timeing, 2 feet in-bounds and what the neutral zone looks like (that last one is a call-out on officials not calling the Eagles on their clear neutral-zone infractions in their tush-push play).
That was BAD.

Dude, it ain't a perfect world.
I'll concede I also have my doubts about the timeout/false start play. To try and say he was verbalizing before the signal, in that loud ass environment.
The touchdown catch was made. The first foot was down when the ball entered his hands, the second step was made, the third step was out.
I also witnessed a bunch of DPIs that were never called as well and those went almost entirely in favor of Detroit's defenders. Branch is a physical grabby guy and refs could spend a lot of time watching him.

Excellent reply Mitch. The TD reception was an easy call. The timeout…questionable?? But they always give the benefit to the coaches.
I’m not feeling bad about it.

"they always give the benefit to the coaches."
Riiiiight. The league is full of examples of the officials allowing a 'benefit of the doubt' timeout AFTER a false start.
In fact, there are so many, you'll be able to provide ONE example. By all means, show me these examples...or even one.
I'll wait.

Imagine you are an official, and a WR reaches really high for the ball with one hand. Does it ever occur to you to check if there's a reason he doesn't have his other hand up? Maybe something is preventing him from raising both hands.
And right in front of the guy. I mean, he has one job, and if that's all the better he is at it, then he needs a new part time job.
I've always thought bad officiating was part of the game, but last year, I started to notice 'suspiciously bad' officiating. That non-call for the PI on Watson was suspiciously bad, IMO.

Given that you've posted the same thing twice and given your screen name, I think you are a Bears or Vikings fan so of course you can't give credit to GB.
I don't get why you can't understand the Wicks catch. He had the ball in two hands when his first foot went down, kept it when t he second foot went down and the third step went out of bounds. It was a brilliant TD catch and they called it correctly. They had every opportunity to overturn it on review, but they saw what I saw.

Who has two better, more complementary players on O and D than the Packers' Love and Parsons?
Add in Jacobs and Watson and Wicks and Tom and Cooper and X and Williams and you have nearly 50% of the 22 starters that can win every game they play.
But those first two are giving me vibes like Favre and Reggie.

Yes, there were many calling for MLF to be fired after the win against the Vikings. I was thinking they were protecting Jordan Love's banged up shoulder and we'd see a different offensive game plan against the Lions.
GB's depth was stronger than DET's depth yesterday, given that both teams had injuries to key players. That's a win for Gutey's roster building efforts.

Westcoast,
look up the post-game locker room video after the DET game.
When LaFleur hands Love one of the game balls, one of the guys behind Love pats him on the shoulder and Love immediately winces, spins around and knocks the hand off his shoulder, and gives the player a snarl and stern glance (player is out of the shot, can't tell who it was.)
Jordan Love is definitely playing through it. It's impressive that he shows no sign of injury while on the field, but his left shoulder is definitely a problem.

LaFleur did not seem to over-think and over-coach the game - which provided the best script for Love. I have long believed that Love performs best on a loose rein (with guard rails). That being so - this is a formula that can take the Packers to the SB. Of course aided by the growing favorite for DPOY - Micah Parsons.

You think Walker will help in pass coverage? It’s Thanksgiving, not April Fools. One of the reasons the defense played well was because he wasn’t on the field.
