Commenters here have been referring to our local Milwaukee sportscasters, so just to keep that in the loop they're saying Hafley will not stay in GB. If that happens I fear the locker room will be lost and they might as well do a complete teardown, including new QB when possible.

I don't believe any of that's true, possibly just because I don't want to see the current collection of talent wasted. Steamrolling into the #1 seed is no longer possible, but that doesn't mean this season is over; it could still be turned around ...

Hafley seems very likely to get a head coaching opportunity. He’s smart, comes over well in the media and as a football nerd at the sane time. His defense has been good, even when the offense hasn’t been. He’s going to get the opportunity. None of that guarantees success, of course.

All this adds piquancy to the debate over LaFleur. Not only is LaFleur a lame duck contractually after this season, our seemingly best coach beneath him is likely to be in demand. Do we really believe he’s a Head Coach for the future? If we do (and Policy should have a much clearer view of the man than we fans do) then we should do everything possible to get him as our HC. So much of being a HC is about character and management skills, which it’s hard for us to see.

I’d still do a search, but we may need to move fast at the end of the season, not equivocate. It’s one reason why I’d even consider an interim test run if nothing improves dramatically. Unlike most, seemingly, i would not can Bissacia, but his decisions have lead me to not see him as a HC I’d want long term. I’d be interested to see how he does with a hopefully less deferential HC.

Do you really think Hafley would step on/over MLF to secure his job? How would that look?-kind of reptilian. That visual would be hard to digest in the greater NFL.

I am finding it increasingly humorous to witness the avalanche of critiques of MLF while 'Teflon-Gutekunst' sits untouched. Makes me wonder about things...and some of the agendas of writers and fans on this site.
