Until our WR group can catch nearly every catchable pass yes. I would also bring in a #2 WR. I would not use Reed in the return game where he gets hammered in the open field and is then expected to do movement in the back field and run out for a pass.....He's over-used by ML. Kraft and RB1 are the only real skill players and ML still barely throws to either. All WR's regressed along with JL and even when JL does throw a decent ball, often times it is dropped killing the drive. Our OC is also nearly the most poorly graded Center in the NFL, so a big upgrade there would also pay dividends in the run and pass game. At the end of 2023-24 we all thought our QB1 and WR group would be lights out....All regressed. JL needs to be playing for his job with Willis on the team showing he is not making the mistakes JL is and has his own running as an extra weapon. GPG

How many articles, podcasts, etc. have been devoted to the possibility of the Packers trading draft picks away for players from other teams over the past 20 or so years?

Now, how many times have Ted Thompson or Brian Gutekunst shipped a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th round pick away to acquire a player? Has it ever happened? Can't think of a single example.

Expect there to be no trades for players per usual in GB this offseason and for the Packers and the usual members of the press who cover the Packers to tell us how GB was really close to trading for player X, Y, or Z.

For better or worse, premium draft picks are sacrosanct in Green Bay and trades like the ones Philly made to acquire starting WR AJ Brown and starting CB Darius Slay just don't happen.

Wish our GMs would do it. We could win the offseason instead of the Bears. Deshaun Watson, Russel Wilson, Ricky Williams, Herschel Walker. All traded for picks. Resultant SB victories? ZERO (although if I recall the Cowboys took the picks and made a mini dynasty). In the 2024 draft the Giants and Panthers made picks for player trades. I’ll have to look but if I recall they SUCKED in the win loss column.

Sure. Sometimes this makes sense. When you are one player away as the missing final piece. This has not been the case since perhaps 2021 or 2022 when a WR might have helped. Most of the picks for players involves trading away the future for an aging vet with a big contract. How much cap space have the packers had in say the last five years? Top of the market pay to the LT, QB, CB all of which did or will produce a significant dead cap number handcuffing the team in acquiring free agents. The pandemic may be long gone but in what business plan of the NFL did anyone contemplate a shrinking cap number? Teams that regularly do this kind of thing end up kicking the can down the road of salary cap hell. There are exceptions like the Eagles who now play in the SB and the Rams who won a SB. However if the Rams had not drafted exceptionally well who knows where they’d be today.

Until MLF starts calling better plays and coaches Love better, adding any kind of receiver is a fools errand.

You do realize that LaFleur/Love have scored more points over the last two seasons than most of the teams in league.? The Eagles have been better. Lions, too. But still, better than most.

Burrow, Tua, Herbert, Love, Hurts. All from the same draft class. Hurts has take a team to the Super Bowl twice, Burrow once, the rest, not at all.
