I think we should get used to it. MLF can’t seem to eliminate mistakes and install discipline. It’s year 6. And the league figured out Jordan Love. You are delusional if you think he will drastically improve. He is what he is.
You would have to have Jacobs, Kraft and an 85 Bears like defense to win here.
The WRs and Love are decidedly average. Same with MLF. Decidedly average and predictable.
Unfortunately Love and LeFluer aren’t going anywhere. I lived through John Hadl, Jerry Taggee, Jim Del Gazo , and Scott Hunter.. I was happy to 3 peat .500 seasons in the 80s. So this is nothing.

BTW.. how long does a team have to deal with Nixon ? His fumble and stupid roughness penalty led to how many points?? How many dead ball fouls on Nixon in the last two years?? How many fumbles ??
Remember he lost the punt return job after his fiasco against the NYG, last year. Another cringe worthy Packer that celebrates routine plays and makes a clown of himself at the teams expense when it matters most.

I don’t think we should return kicks and punts we don’t have to …. That’s not news
As a CB, by tackles, snaps, and passes defended, he’s been our top corner over the last two years . He hasn’t missed games.
I thought it was not the leadership you hope your vets show. I’m hoping for a remodeling of the CB room.

Discipline is totally gone in GB. I appreciate "SinceLombardi's" comment. I too am from those days gone by. All those former Packer QB's were awful. It stemmed from a very poor internal Packer organization living in the past; remember these coaches: Phil Bengtson, Bart Starr, Forrest Greg, Lindy Infante, Dan Divine, Ray Rhodes, Mike Sherman? These coaches were selected by a Packer administration that knew nothing. Finally, the Packers hired Mike Holmgren and Ron Wolf, found Brett Favre and the story quickly got better. Now we are on the downward slide and the internal administration of the Packers looks a bit similar...sorry to say. The team consists of a bunch of so, so players led by a so, so coach.

Is it lack of discipline or shit for brains? Do they know how to play their position? The Packers have the kind of players that will make an interception with a small lead as the final clock expires and try to run it out. Flagrant fouls for 15 yards? Throwing the ball to triple covered receivers? Calling the most boring predictable plays? Mismanaging the clock? Shit for brains.

but all started with bob harlan.
and SB 2010 is also on the harlan tree.
more and more murphy updated the organization and more and more it became soft and mediocre.
july 2025 ed policy will get in as president, he is the son of the montana's era CEO, we'll see if he is more an harlan or more a murphy kind of president

those afore mentioned coaches were all under the leadership of judge Parins, it wasn't until the board got the backbone to dump him and hire Bob Harlan did the team start to turn things around. i remember clearly listening to Parins say " why would we pay for good players when we already pack out our stadium?" It was Bob Harlan who brought in Ron Wolf AND separated the football side of the team from the business side so that Wolf would have full control of all football decisions. this by the way was changed back a few years ago by Mark Murphy who decided he needed to be a part of the football decisions as well as the business side. this happened right before the draft that acquired jordan love, coincidence? not so sure......

Thanks Andy for a balanced and insightful view of this season and this team. I have learned a lot from your segments. Your statement that the failings this year have opened the Pandora's box on questioning Love, LaFleur and Gutekunst is right on point. Yes, they have earned the right to show that it is growing pains BUT they need to demonstrate real improvement. Given that our division is becoming very tough, it will difficult to defend slipping further back in talent and execution. I would dare say that next year will be the prove it year for the team as we know it.
Looking forward to your continued coverage of the team that we love.

The lack of discipline (penalties) falls on both the coaching staff and the players, but it starts with the coaching staff not tolerating mistakes that continue. Love is NOT an elite QB. He is average at best. He continues to throw into coverage, and he looks tentative too much of the time. Every time he drops back to pass, I hold my breath.
The defense needs to figure out how to get to the QB more often, and it needs to understand that the middle of the field from 5-15 yards from the line of scrimmage is NOT free for the taking. Unless there are corrections and not just lip service, which LeFleur is good at, this team will struggle.

If LaFleur is retained, it will be crystal clear that this organization has a bogus view of itself. The league and time have shown he’s not up to the task as a head coach or in terms of offensive control. It’s over. The only question is when we will face what’s already been amply demonstrated. Only then will we have a chance to be more than we have been.

Come on - maybe go to the Vikes site or maybe better go to the Bears site

The next season will tell a lot.
The division has now become much better. No longer is GB the big kid on the block who got to run over three sometimes sub par teams in their own division on an annual basis. Detroit and Minnesota are now much better and with some right moves the Bears will improve. The gimmes are no longer there in the North. You must win in your division more than 1/6.
Next season the schedule gets tougher. They'll be facing much better competition throughout the season. They will be tested. For those who always complained that GB was always picking near the end of the first round, and subsequent rounds in the draft, one gets the feeling that 2026 should bring a higher than usual draft pick opportunity(s). Is it too soon to make that prediction? Maybe. Does that mean I'm not a perpetually optimistic homer? Probably. But the way this season ended did not warm my heart like the end of 2023 did. They regressed. The end of this season may have had a better W/L record but it did not feel the same.
Hey, remember that Jordan Love was playing catch with the gang in the off season and Aaron Rodgers never did that stuff? The passing attack was supposed to be soooo much better just because of that (according to some). I'll admit that I was one who was okay with - number 1 by committee - when it seemed to be working. It's no longer working. A really good receiver has now become a need. It has become a need because of injuries and regressions. Jordan Love has a good deal more to work on than playing catch with his boys. As it was pointed out in this episode he's really not that good at being a pure drop back passer and his decisions, inconsistencies, and accuracy are suspect.
Youth movement? Knock it off with that talk and put it to bed. They are young because that is the path management took. They wanted to be, and had to be, in that position as a team. They had to shed aged vets and high paying vet contracts and move out of cap hell. Now they are getting some money back in the bank and they will have to bring in some key free agents to help shore up some positions of need. Guess what? The average age will inch back upward. The other reason they will so badly need some of those key free agents is because they still are below the Mendoza line in draft and develop, but there is hope. They have drafted better as of late (Kraft, Cooper, Williams, and a couple others) but we can't have anymore Garys and LVNs. Gary took too long to develop and now he is overpaid for what they get from him. LVN is on the same pathway. They were both taken high (12/13) and didn't offer immediate help. High draft picks at many positions should bring more immediate help.
They have a lot to work on.

I Kind of disagree with """ the massively disappointing loss""" - were we not underdogs????? - were we not only behind by only 10 points ???? heading into the last half ( should have been only 7. Yes we have a lot to work on - will the Vikes still have their QB or will they have learned from the Pack and pay Darnold and let their rookie guy sit. But then again who will become cap casualties. The Bears will be better if they get a better coach and better assistants. But we also will be playing only 3rd place teams outside of our normal rotation. Now as shown on Sunday we need a much better Oline - you cant fall apart because of one guy getting hurt. Who is our Oline coach - Butkus has been around the block. Maybe he needs to be replaced? Or at least focus more on the Oline system- and why are our backups not good enough. We probably will need to totally revamp the top 2 of our receivers - Watson wont start and probably might not even be resigned ( or at least put on PUP) Doubs seems to be prone to head injuries - that bang to the back of the head with that helmet didnt look that hard on tv. So we have work to do in free agency and restocking the draft. But I am still happy with the results although Love needs to improve most definitely. It also didnt help with him getting hurt during the first game.

Things that bother me regarding the current Packers.
Lack of play design or personnel not being able to separate from the defenders. Is this because of a poor offensive coordinator?
Offensive linemen appear to not be developing. Is this because of poor Offensive Line coaching?
Seems to be a need for a consistent clutch receiver!
I would like to see more qualified Offensive Line Coach & Offensive Coordinator.
