I agree on the platooning. It doesn’t help either settle or be the best they can be. It’s an excuse not to choose not a strategy for the best play now or development.

Mike Wahle is candid and great - always tells it like it is. And Andy as usual is keyed into what is happening inside Lombardi Avenue HQ.
7th show or article - "the Love/Favre comparisons" - now in just 3 days that's purpose appears to be to REDEEM Jordan Love - someone is feeling the need to protect Jordan and getting defensive - and justify Jordan's "gunslinging" - i.e. failure to protect the ball, 29th out of 32 QBs in protecting the ball based on a 4.5% interception per pass attempt number - through a usually unjust comparison with Brett, while leaving out the fact the only years that Brett and the Packers and Vikings made to the NFC Conference Championships and Super Bowls were the 4 years that Brett's interceptions were lowest as a percentage of pass attempts - 1.3% in 2009 with the Vikings, 2.3% in 1995, 2.4& in 1996, and 3.1% in 1997.
And that (i.e. Favre’s prime years 1995-97) was all at a time when life on the field for a QB was much more difficult and interception rates were much higher and TD rates and passer ratings much lower than 2024.
1996 NFL league wide average vs. 2023 NFL league wide average:
Interception %: 3.4% 1996, 2.3% 2024
TD %: 3.9% 1996, 4.2% 2024
Yards per pass attempt: 6.7 1996, 7.1 2024
Completion %: 57.6% 1996, 65.2% 2024
Passer Rating: 76.9 1996, 90.1 2024
1996 individual leaders:
Interception %: 1.9% Steve Young, (Favre 2.4%. 3rd )
TD %: 7.2% Favre
Yards per pass attempt: 7.8 Mark Brunell (Favre 7.2, 9th )
Completion %: Steve Young 67.7% (Favre 59.9%, 10th)
Passer Rating: 97.2 Steve Young (Favre 95.6, 2nd)
2024 individual leaders:
Interception %: 0% Josh Allen (Love 4.5%, 29th)
TD %: 8.4% Love
Yards per pass attempt: 9.5 Goff, (Love 7.5, 13th)
Completion %: Daniels 75.6%, (Love 61.5%, 29th)
Passer Rating: Jackson 118, (Love 94.1, 14th)

Mike Wahle at 25 minutes and 50 seconds:
“And well to say like tuck it and run. Man like you can’t tell a thrower. Like shooters shoot and that’s just part of this game. I think you have to embrace a lot of that. Yeah, I don’t know, that’s why we love Brett, Brett threw 5 picks I think in St. Louis and like all of us we’re like dude just 14 we don’t care two jet all go, let’s do it”
Mike – who started at left guard for the Packers from 1999 through 2004 – and missed the NON interception NFC Championship Super Bowl Brett of 1994 through 1997- remembers the Divisional Round loss to the Rams that Mike started in in January of 2002 – as do I, but it was actually 6 interceptions that Brett threw and 3 of those Brett interceptions were returned for touchdowns!!
Very disappointing game – that the Packers could have and should have won and gone on to win the NFC Championship and Super Bowl, if Brett were using his brain and valuing the ball and handing off to Ahman Green rather than changing calls at the lines of scrimmage and firing short 5 to 15 yard passes into traffic – some of them hospital balls that led to fumbles as well. Instead of playing like 1994-97 Brett, Brett was relishing in the “Gunslinger” image the NFL media built around him. Those that personally experienced the “Gunslinger” Brett from 1998 and post Holmgren 1999 through 2006 came into each year with Green Bay Super Bowl expectations and were disappointed year after year with the primary factor for disappointment being Brett Favre and his “gunslinger” interceptions, often single handedly losing games as the rest of the team tried to carry him.
Those of us who remember the Brett of 1993 and 1998 through 2006 and popping up again in sudden death overtime against the Giants in January 2008 know that comparing the current Jordan that is 29th in interception % per pass attempt to Interception Brett – ignoring non interception Championship/Super Bowl Brett - is not a compliment and just sophistry meant to fool. We loved Brett Favre for his toughness and durability and playing through injuries and concussions and hits to the head (Brett - unlike Jordan who chucks the ball up into tight coverage and double and triple coverage - would scramble and take hits and sacks – some of which hits undoubtedly have led to Brett’s Parkinson’s and other brain damage) but it was a relief to have a cerebral quarterback that also valued the ball and could carry a team rather than the team carrying him. Now we are back to all of College football’s interception leader the NFL’s current interception leader.
