Elijah Moore was a promising second-round pick in 2021 for the Jets, Moore appeared in 27 games with 15 starts and recorded 50 receptions for 984 yards and six touchdowns. Has a high ceiling and they traded him to Cleveland along with shipping their 3rd round pick (#74) in order to get back Cleveland's #42. While I know Moore was not overly happy a lot of it seemed like it was with Zach Wilson & Mike LeFleur not getting the ball to him enough. Mike is gone & Zach is going to be permanently on the bench, or possibly included in the AR trade. On the surface, it sure seems like the Jet's got the worst end of the trade with Cleveland.

Meaning sure seems like the Jet's/Packer trade talks are moving along. I'd sure like the Jet's #13, #42, and #45 for AR. Receiving only one of those two second round picks would be very disappointing if that was the extent of it. Let's hope there is more.......

So would the pack want those picks and not the fourth rounder they are offering for a broken down old geezer who thinks he can still play football. When its all done the pack will end up with just about nothing for Rodgers because they waited too long. Bad decicisions all around will haunt this team going forward.

F,
I was beating the drums all last offseason for the Packers to trade AR & fleece Denver. Bothers me even now & will never understand it, but it is in the past & time to move forward and get what you can.

Doesn't seem like Moore would have been Packerish! Liked his game though even if on smaller side.

Knock it is impossible not to look back at the missed opportunity Green Bay had last year when they passed on that trade. We missed a once in a lifetime opportunity to take back control of the team from Rodgers, to snag the bonanza of picks and players to start the reload/rebuild of the roster and not handcuff ourselves to that cap consuming contract that is absolutely killing our ability to resign not only our FAs but any who could help us this year. Adam Theilen for $7 million a year. Do you think his veteran presence wouldn't have helped. Still a really good player and teammate too. Or any other players we might have wanted.

Its not just the picks we missed on which is huge, Noah Fant would have filled a monstrous hole in our TE room. Shelby was a really good player. Drew locke-QB would have made a great backup/insurance policy to Love. At that time K J Hammler was rumored to be in the deal too. Wow what a "Lets Go Backwards" for 3 years mistake that was.

Do you think the Moore trade was made to make an offer of both of the Jets 2nd round picks for this year instead of trading us #13? I would be agreeable to that as long as we got say their 2nd and 5th rounders next year. We still need to get some players back in the deal. I want Jeremy Ruckert-TE Ohio State for sure. He fills a hole for us and he is not just a body, He was the 3rd best TE available in the draft last year. We could fill a hole @ safety if they gave us Jordan Whitehead or Ashtyn Davis. A player the Jets don't need and I would love in the deal is Denzel Mims-WR. He could be a star that just needs a fresh start. He was a 2nd round draft pick that due to injuries and bad QB play has dropped on the Jets depth chart. Garret Wilson is their heart throb WR now. Green Bay liked him in 2020 draft, he is 6'3 215lbs and ran 4.4. Had 1000 yrds and 12 td senior year.

Having three 2nd picks in this draft be would huge. Cheaper for us too. Maybe we trade back with the middle one to the end of round 2 and pick up another 3rd. It would go a long ways toward making up for the mistake missing the 2022 trade.

GP,
Pretty much everything you say I am in total agreement with. Such a screwup last year! I constantly wrote before and after the need for that trade. Not only because of the draft & player haul, but because AR was malignant for the team. The Packer organization will always be most important to me over any player. Rodgers has been a cancer & metastasized throughout the locker room. 2023 is going to be such a breath of fresh air in so many ways.

I am so torn with what the trade will eventually look like as there are draft picks, money/salary, and player exchanges likely involved. My fantasy of course is getting #13, #42, and #43 and Jermaine Johnson & Jeremy Ruckert. Then get a conditional pick in 2024 & 2025 based on how long AR plays, his performance, and the teams success. In return, the Packers trade Aaron Rodgers & David Bachtiari. Age & injury combined with salary and Bachtiari and I don't see him leaving that big of a deal. Just pick up a good LT this year and lets see what we have in Zach Tom, Caleb Jones, Rasheed Wallace & the rookie. At worst case scenario we slide Jenkins out. We will be fine! With the # of TE's the Jets have and the talent at Edge I truly don't think the Jet's would lose that much in giving up Johnson and Ruckert. Can Gutey pull something like the above off don't know but wow would it change the fortunes of the GBP's. I am super excited about Jordan Love and think we are going to love him.
