I think our best line is Bakhtiari, Runyan, Jenkins, Myers, and Tom. If we get Nijman back, that could change. If we draft a guy, that could change. But right now, that's who I'd go with.

Has Myers played G before? I thought Tom looked better at LT than at Rt.

Left to right. Bahk/Nijim - Jenkins - Myers/Tom - Runyan/Rhyan/Draft - Nijim/Draft (Broderick Jones)

LT - Bahk, unless traded. Can't see that yet. Nijim if Bahk can't go on any game day.
LG - Jenkins all day long. He is Pro-Bowl/All-Pro there. Don't eff with it.
C - Let the best man win between Myers and Tom. I think this is Tom's best position with some weight/strength added.
RG - Runyan until he can be unseated by someone on the roster (Rhyan get your head out of your arse) or draftee.
RT - Holy hell. Can they just find someone that can lock this position down. I'd take Broderick Jones and not look back.

No brainers - Cut Hanson. Cut Newman. Need to stop with the "our guys" mentality. These guys are liabilities.

This is exactly what I think. Except I’m open to several rookie ROT options, including O’Cyrus Torrence.

Hanson is a goner. I still think Newman is a decent backup with room to improve. Notice that I said Backup and not Starter.

If injuries happen, it can't hurt to keep him. We'll let the coaching staff judge that in August.

I see this as our day 1 line:

LT - Zach Tom. He fared very well for a rookie, and if he beefs up, he could become our next great round 4 LT. I think this is Tom's best position, as it is what he trained at during the offseason most.
LG - Elgton Jenkins. Not much to say here.
C - Josh Myers. Last year was basically his rookie year after he missed virtually all of 2021. I think we ought to give him at least another year. However, I would like us to draft some competition for him. Hanson is not suitable.
RG - Jon Runyan. He has been very good when he's played, although he wasn't as good at RG. Probably some element of positional unfamiliarity. After a full offseason of training at RG (and after he barely played RG for the last several years), he should be more familiar.
RT - Yosh Nijman. People seem to remember his last game vs DET and forget so quickly that his shoulder was injured vs the Dolphins and that, for most of the season, he played very well. He was top 10 in run block win rate (and in pass block win rate before DET). More familiarity at RT, a position he almost never trained at, will also help in the offseason.

As backups, Caleb Jones could be a Yosh Nijman 2.0, and he and Rasheed Walker can be our swing tackles. Guard depth and Center depth are both concerning, but Newman has been okay (as a backup, NOT as a starter) and we'll see what Rhyan brings in his second year. I think drafting a backup Center on day 3 is an excellent idea as well as another Guard somewhere, too. It also helps that players like Elgton Jenkins and Zach Tom can play multiple positions, too.

I would ultimately cut Bakhtiari (out of salary cap necessity for now and in the future) and give a younger o-line a try this year. If any of our key starters flop in 2023, we can replace them in 2024. That's how I see it. The 2024 OL class is better, in general, too.

I also think that our needs at TE, WR, S, OLB, and DL are bigger than those on the OL.

My favorite idea is trading Rodgers and Bakhtiari as a package.

Good eyes. The RT has to be taken care of with a blue chip guy. They have given up key pressures at critical moments, in Big Games since Bulaga moved on.

I think Tom’s best position is center; I think Myers best position is RG and backup center.

The only concern about Tom at the center position is his ability to handle the Bull rush.
