First off, those ads for the manscaper actually kind of make me less likely to buy the product.

Second, LaFleur recently talked about speed in the receiver room, and said "We lost a guy who could take the top off........" He wasn't talking about Adams, he was talking about MVS. Because apparently, guys with speed like that present such a threat that the defense has to cover them, even if they aren't real good.

I value possession receivers more than deep threats, because they keep you on the field and give you a fresh set of downs. That means a guy who can run good routes, beat press coverage, and catch. A short burst is probably more useful than top end speed.

I fervently hope the Packers use two of their five Top 92 picks getting WRs, I think there are so many available that it's not smart to trade away stuff to move up. I also hope they are familiar with the expression "Don't put all your eggs in one basket", because I think it would make much more sense to draft two guys who you think can cover the snaps, targets, and receptions of Adams. If you hit on both, great, you have a pair of good receivers on rookie deals for the next several years. If you hit on one, you still have a starter. If one guy is out with an injury, the other gets more snaps.

There's a kind of balance to just using the two picks we got from trading Adams to get his replacements. That'd be #22 and #53. The usual bunch might be available at 22: Olave, Williams, London, Burks, etc. These are the top WRs in the draft and we should get a shot at one of them. At #53, you get Watson about 1/2 the time, Bell most of the time, and Pierce most of the time.

I'd be fine taking the field with Williams and Watson and Lazard and Cobb and Amari. I think that's a good group. And kind of a cheap group, too.

Second year in a row that the listener mock draft was ruined by hosts’ decision to allow the guest GM’s to do ridiculous trades. At least this time we didn’t have to listen to the whole thing only to have the guest gm trade back in to the 2nd round. No, this time we got treated to two completely ridiculous low-value trade-ups. One time, maybe just ONE TIME, do the mock and look at who might be there where the Packers are actually slotted? Jesus freaking Christ. End rant (until the Thursday crew fires up the legendary “superlatives” episode for another year).
