They should trade him and save the money. LOL Unfortunately that is the mode for this org. They give vast amounts to 30 year olds and let the younger guys go to save a buck: Rodgers, Bak, Clark
Be ironic if they ended up giving him a nice pay day and be became Mr Interception and last year was a one year wonder. Maybe thats what they are afraid of?

Why do you care how much it costs? Save the money for what? So they can try to stumble through the now-competitive NFC North and miss the playoffs, without a quality QB at the helm? The teams that make the playoffs, win in the playoffs and have a chance to win it all are teams that have a top QB, and those teams HAVE to pay those QBs their market value.
If Love doesn't get what he wants in GB, some other team will pay him and GB will start over looking for a new QB. You wanna be like the Bears and Vikings, always looking for a new QB?

Is he under contract Yes. Then he should be there or be fined.

He is there and is participating in everything except on the field action.. Even though he is technically on the field.

You are adorable! No victory dance yet, little buddy. It's not like he's in Egypt.

Are you going to be sad when the Packers hoist another Lombardi and you won't even be able to allow yourself to enjoy it?

He signed his rookie deal and collected money while siting not playing for two years, with one with him not even dressing. He signed another contract to extend his first one. Now, after a half-and-half season as the starter, which doesn't make him 'golden', Is he the obvious starter for the future, sure, but not practicing while under a contract is not a good look. I know, what, if he gets hurt before he gets his big deal? Well, that was something he had to understand when he signed the other contracts to play. I don't like paying a player early because he might get hurt, I pay a player for what I expect to get from him. He, IMO, is now setting a character stance that will likely arise again in two years when he is no longer the highest paid QB, which is what he wants to be now. Yes, I don't care what the market says to pay him, he hasn't earned that value. Maybe in two years and a high level of success will dictate such monetary payout.

Mischaracterization of what is going on.
Love is in Green Bay. He's in the meetings. He's on the sidelines. He's just not partaking in any physical on the field activities.
All is well between Green Bay and Love, this is just injury prevention until the extension is signed.

Do we have any predictions on what the next hot topic will be, once Love is signed, sealed, and delivered? Will it be our top pick needing time to develop, deeming him an instant bust after week one of camp? Or maybe Watson tweaking his hammy, sending Packer Nation into a trade him now mode or just cut him..?

Think hard. Where was the last place you remember having it?

If Love signs a mega-contract but then gets seriously injured, does he have to give all of that money back to the Packers?

I think so, but only if he's injured by falling in a forest.

In that case, the cheers of the future for the Packers will be the sound of thousands of fans with only one hand clapping -- deafening in its folly.

Why can't one of these guys realize that 50-60M for one player weakens the team. Yes, he's important but so is everyone else.
Why can't a 25 y/o be ok with $35M? These payouts are absurd. Love might turn into Rodgers after all-I have lost all respect for Rodgers and Love's behavior is too close to his for comfort.

He sure seemed to have a good rapport with both the head coach and the GM when he was on the sidelines at TC today. Why are some fans so twisted up by this when the people inside 1265 don't seem to be?

I'm just gonna say, there is some disrespect signing Clark before Love....JL is a top 5 NFL QB1 with multiple stud WR's and a couple good TE's and RB room. The OL should be improved over last season with more depth. The Defense is better and now with a new DC. The ST is still very suspect in the Field goal kicking and punting game. We are ready for a deep playoff run and hopefully more. Sign the QB1 top 3-5 money and get the ST fixed for good...Then we can all breathe a little easier. Love will be a pro bowler this year. WORD.....GPG

Agree about Clark. Green Bay seems very slow w/contracts. They have to know not signing Love in a timely fashion will be a distraction.
I don't like these bloated contracts but they seem to be what's expected. GB. get moving!

With all the talent on the offensive side of the ball, Love should put up huge numbers and make his pay day even more....so it is in GB best interest not to low ball him and get it done, sooner than later. I'm in full agreement of QB's paid outside the cap or at least a hard cap that can't be broken and it goes up with a plus league cash flow at best when QB's contracts get renewed.
