Jordan Love Eager for the New Season As Offseason Program Winds Down
By GilMartin
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is eager for training camp and the 2024 season to begin. Love has much to look forward to. Both he and the team finished the 2023 season strong and made the playoffs with the youngest roster in the league. They also soundly defeated the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs before falling to the 49ers in a close game that the Packers led most of the way. Love is also currently in negotiations with the team to sign a long-term extension that will make him a wealthy man.
Love hasn’t forgotten the way the previous season ended but that only makes him more eager to get back on the field to take the next step.
Like many of his teammates and the coaching staff, Love was disappointed to have lost that game. He threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter which prevented the Packers from coming back to tie or win the game.
Love felt it would only help him learn more about play calling. “If anything, it helps being able to understand the play calls, be always thinking of that next play kind of as you’re going on the play and knowing the situation. I think it helps prepare me and just understand the 2-minute situations better, what we need, what plays work and what don’t work, getting more comfortable with plays and calling them.”
Love is also expected to sign a new contract before training camp opens on July 22. Rumors say he will be earning more than $50 million per season which would make him one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league if not the highest. Right now, Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow is the highest paid signal caller in the league at an average of $55 million per season.
While that would put pressure on most people, Love just seems to be taking it in stride. He’s eager to start the 2024 season and prove his strong finish last season was no fluke.

We're also excited, looking forward to what this season will bring, and have high expectations. There are the "if's": who is healthy, how quickly the defense will adapt to the new defensive scheme, how the OL will develop, whether the team will have their usual slow start on offense, whether the other teams in the division have progressed or regressed. But right now, everything is good, and the season and this team look like serious contenders.

A team without "ifs" before the season is a team that has no chance of improving. A team with "ifs" is a team that can get better, oh yes the opposite is true. That is why we watch the game. Let the games begin.

He should be excited. He was drafted and developed for 3 years, and then last year was his opportunity to fly solo and earn his wings. He's done so.
Now, he's reached the point where the next several years should be the prime years of his career. This window does not stay open forever. I could name you quite a few good young QBs who made it to the Super Bowl early in their career and then never again. The list of guys who make it for the first time after 30 is very short. So he has a couple of years to really make his mark, and the clock is already running. These next few seasons will define Love's career, IMO.

He should be excited, and I hope relaxed and confident.
Push the envelope and the new D when the 1s are squaring off in camp. "Steel sharpens steel" is the quote I'm stealing here.

Off the top of my head I'd bet Stafford, Ryan, Brad Johnson and Dilfer were over 30. In fact, even taking away Brady I'd bet since 2000 just as many SBs have been won by QBs over 30 as under. Throw Brady in there and it's not close.

Wow. 4qbs in 25 years….5 if you include Brady. You sure made your point.

Do you have to work at being an insufferable a-hole...or does it just come naturally for you?

I guess it's natural. How about you?

The two INTs were NO joke.
The 50 mil a year is.
I'm sure he'll get it from Gute.
But IMO he'll never live up to it.
So watch how the landscape changes again.
For those that want to finish their career here..

"Abandon hope, all those who read stockholder's posts" should be put on the entrance to Hades. Don't you ever have anything positive to write? Even in the pre-season, when we can hope and dream. Except for you. Yesterday was bad; today is worse; tomorrow will be even more abysmal.

Hope? -
Isn't that what you're basing 5 years on?
I was very positive about Not tanking.
Others were Not.
Come crunch time and injuries-
Love threw 2 INTs.
Thats worth 50 mil?
Not if I'm the GM.
Gute plays the PR game.
Thats what he's paying for. PR!

Notice that no one has hired you as GM.
There's probably a reason for that ...

The second INT was late in the game when he was trying to make things happen and win the game. He took a chance that he may not have earlier in the game. If the defense would have done their job we might not have been in the place.

Stock, gotta admit, you are a grumpy, negative poster. But here you’re getting wrapped up with the number. That’s the going rate for QB’s! It’s not coming out of your bank account! And we need a QB, cause we didn’t have one. We had a spoiled “celebrity”. I don’t understand the PR thing cause JLove is about the last guy interested in PR in NFL football player that I see right now. We shall see. But mostly it does no good to look back and bitch about what could/should have been.

If you want to create some acrimony with your star player and disrupt the harmonious locker room. Go ahead and do what you suggest. The Packers will end up being put over the barrel and be put in the same position Dak has put the Cowboys. The contract is only going to be higher the longer you wait. Get it done now and we'll be further ahead as we can leverage his 2025 contract into the extension, thereby lowering future cap numbers. He is young and still growing. His upside is huge. I' for one will be celebrating when this gets done and we have him under contract for the next 5 years.

Disruption? I just don't agree with you.
Why have the franchise rule then?
The over the barrel? What has Love won?
I wouldn't pay Zak either.
You pay the winner-
We haven't won anything-
We showed Promise and progress!
You want to pay the flash in the pan-
Love maybe fools gold for those" 5 years."
So if he signs and we don't win for 5 years?
Then what.
Try the years after Starr-

Hate is a strong word for disagreeing with another poster's opinion. "ex Packer head case". You bring Rodgers back into the conversation once again. Why? He is no longer a part of this franchise, it's time for you to let go of your own hate.
I don't think Stockholder hates Jordan Love. I think he questions whether the Packers should be all in after a half season. Regardless of whether you agree or not, it's a fair question to ask. I'm not saying I agree with him but questioning it certainly doesn't deserve the "voice of hate" accusation.

Guess you don't read posts on here very often and Rodgers is all Stockholder talks about. Who do you think he was referring to was Rodgers whether YOU like it or not. Stockholders in almost every posts makes it clear that he hates anything that concerns the Packers w/o Rodgers as part of the conversation. Each to their own opinion.
