Former Green Bay Packers running back Johnathan Franklin cleared waivers on Monday, according to the league's transaction wire.

After being released by the Packers last week, another team could have assumed Franklin's contract but was likely scared off by his neck injury that forced him to be placed on injured reserve last season.

Franklin is technically free to sign with any team he chooses but would seemingly find it difficult to get a team to clear him medically.
