OTHER than the fact that this dude is really F'ing good, he says things like this and actually mean it! It's not lip service, something to make him look like the ultimate "Team Guy". Nope, this IS Aaron Jones and Jones will do ANYTHING necessary to help the Packers win. You just have to love a guy like that IMO.

While I wouldn't compare him to Marshall Faulk just yet, the role he'll have in this offense is very Faulk-like. But I also think this is the year of AJ Dillon. IMO this will be AJ Dillon's break-out season in terms of running the ball. 1200 yards or more seems very reasonable to me for Dillon. Dillon will be the 1A runner, Jones the 1-A pass catcher.

Cory mentioned 80 catches for Jones which I think is a definite possibility. MLF has been designing new ways to get Jones the ball, AND I think Rodgers will lean on Jones heavily this year...Especially early on while Doubs and (SIGH) Watson get up to speed.

Good article Cory. Now that they're into camp we don't have to just have hype. A lot of people comment that the running backs took a step back last year and show the numbers to prove it but, I think it was think it was the O-line that took a step back with all the new faces and/or new places. I think this year with a good (and healthy) camp and the backs working more at the same time, they'll exceed 2020 numbers in all phases.

Jones is going to be the primary recevier on many plays. I see him and Dillon on the field together a lot.

Jones will be the biggest key to the offense. Both in the running game and passing game. I don't expect him to get an abundance of carries per game, but touches I think he will have a lot. I think he will have 20+ touches per game. Maybe around 10-12 carries. I think they will be splitting carries between him and Dillon.

I would not be surprised to see a lot of 2 RB looks especially early in the year. But I think Jones will be the biggest key. His versatility and ability to be use in multiple ways will be one of the biggest keys for the offense.

I think there is a chance that the other slot type in this O is Jones. Cobb isn’t going anywhere, but as a player schemed open to run with the ball after the catch, Jones is the guy. With players like Watson likely to run some plays, Cobb and Jones, I’d be very happy with the slot type receiver options when we aren’t using Lazard/Watkins/Doubs there. This is another reason why I’m struggling to see how Rodgers fits, at least this year.

A certain amount of Irony in the timing of this piece, because Dillon yesterday made perhaps one of the best catches by a big RB in a long time up the seam, adjusting to the pass, snaring it and retaining momentum. That man can flat out catch and I expect to see him earn more passes too. We are going to see 2 RB sets and I think plenty of passing yards out of them. Put Watson on the field too and I think LaFleur could really have fun.

I hope that the optimism from this article proves true. Yet Jones is approaching the backside of his career. A two headed monster is great but a three headed monster is even better. Taylor is Ok but I was really hoping that Hill would be the next one in line. His injury came at a bad time. I read that some of the other RB’s have looked good catching passes. So maybe the next RB will have to have that ability in order to stick on the team.

The answer for this offense is to spread the ball around and stay balanced between pass and run. Get away from focusing on one or two guys and get everyone involved. Become unpredictable.

I still think we're better off with last season's arrangement in roughly splitting the touches between Jones and Dillon. It's a long season and we really don't need Jones to get dinged up by trying to match Faulk's production. Faulk, by the way, never had a complementary back of Dillon's caliber as a teammate either with the Rams or the Colts.

The Packers may choose to lean on Jones more in the passing game in the early going, which is fine, but the ball distribution needs to be evening out as the season rolls along.

Marshall Faulk comparison….cool 👊🏻 can’t wait to see that! It’s amazing for a team with so many key people returning you’d expect to see much of what worked in the past…but I’m so fired up to see what the first four games look like and what are the difference’s are with this team on both sides.

Clearly they will have ideas right out of the gate what they think they can do! Can’t wait!

And Doubs continues to make plays with the pads on.......apparently they are not in his way

We all know that times are different and the game is different - but we are set up to have the same Csonka Mercury Morris combo - or the Bleier Franco - combo - with many times with both on the field at the same time. Jones had an off year as far as breaking the big ones and other aspects. Some of that might have been by the lack of motion along the line of scrimmage that Lafleur had in the game plans last year - But I look forward to both that, the Jones down the sidelines passes and the Dillon up the middle for big gainers. All of that takes the pressure both off of the Oline when AR is forced to stand back there for 8 seconds. We are in an excellent position to be more of a multiple discipline offense this year rather than simply relying on Davante. We know when teams shut us down it was because they managed to hold Davante/AR to minimal damage. Even last year's playoff loss - Jones didnt finish the big play near the end of the first half like he normally has done.

Dillon Jones had over 2300 yards of total offense, rushing and receiving, and put 17 TDs on the board. If Dillon Jones was one person, instead of two, it would have been one of the greatest seasons by a RB in NFL history. I see absolutely no reason to not keep doing what we're doing, because it's working really well and keeping people healthy for the season.
