Must win for the Packers today.
With a loss today to the Bears and the final 4 games:
at Broncos
at Bears
home Ravens
at Vikings
I could just as easily see the Packers finishing this season 8 wins 8 losses and a tie and miss the playoffs as I could see the Packers with a win today, finishing 13 wins 3 losses and a tie and being the #1 seed with a bye wild card weekend and home field throughout the playoffs.

Stating the fairly obvious about the possible scenarios that could play out.

I think that most people would see the 2 outcomes I suggest - finishing 0-5 or finishing 5-0 - as having the lowest probability of occurring.
Now only 1 of those 2 possibilities remain.

"Must win for the Packers today."
The Packers must at least split with the Bears. Is today a must-win? Not necessarily, but it's the one you want in your pocket rather than having to go to Chicago in two weeks in a must-win.

My prediction.
Last week Lafleur called 30 runs and 30 passes
So the Packers record since Jordan became the Packers starting QB is now:18 wins 3 losses when the Packers drop back to pass (pass attempts + sacks) on less than 50% of the offensive plays
The Packers record since Jordan became the Packers starter is 9 wins 18 losses and 1 tie when Packers drop back to pass on more than 50% of the offensive plays (includes the game that Jordan started in 2021 vs. Chiefs)
This 2025-26 Packers team - as was true of the Packers 2023-24 and 2024-25 teams - could win a Super Bowl with Rodgers or another top quarterback. However it the Packers win the Superbowl this season, it will be despite having Jordan at QB and with Lafleur having to turn water into wine once again to save the Parasite Gutekunst's ass, as Rodgers since the day Gutekunst took the GM job in 2018 and probably earlier. .
So given the Packers shortcoming Gutekunst has created at quarterback - the most critical position for a General Manager to get right - how does Lafleur coach the Packers to a win today?
Bears are #31 out of 32 teams in defending the run and #17 out of 32 teams defending the pass - the Bears on defense lead the league in intercepting the opposing quarterback - their 17 interceptions is 4 more than the 2nd place defensive team - Seahawks and Jaguars both tied with 13.
The Bears are first in the NFL in causing turnovers - 19.8% of opponents offensive drives end in a turnover.
I expect that Lafleur will continue to try to run the ball and limit Jordan's passing - Jordan to his credit found Watson in stride on a pass that travelled 53 air yards. That was the best pass I have seen Jordan throw in his career - both college and pro. Don't know how often that will happen as the QB has to know when to release the ball and have the right touch and arm strength. Next Gen Stats measured Aaron Rodgers 70 yard Hail Mary against the Bengals this year as the longest pass of any quarterback since 2017.
I expect when the Bears have the ball they will attempt to run the ball as they did very successfully against the Eagles - 47 runs by the Bears last week vs. 38 pass dropbacks.
The Packers are 7th of 32 teams in defending the run, allowing 3.9 yards per rushing attempt and Bears on offense are 5th out of 32 teams with a yards per rush of 4.9 yards.
The Packers are 12th in defending the pass, allowing a passer rating of 89.3 and Bears are 17th in passing on offense with a 89.1 passer rating.
Also Bears quarterback Caleb Williams can take off and run.
The Packers are favored by 6.5 points and the over/under is 44.5 implying a Packers 26 Bears 19 final score.
The question today is can Matt Lafleur find a way to win in spite of having Mr. Hyde - Jordan - at quarterback?
Dr. Jekyll rarely shows up - though he did on Thanksgiving against the Lions - and poor Lafleur has been asked to turn water into wine, but Matt is not Jesus.
The Packers 3 losses and 1 tie this year are each tied to Jordan Love's BONEHEADED plays (Browns interception, Cowboys fumble, Panthers interception, Eagles fumble) at the worst possible times and thus can be placed squarely on Gutekunst, the incompetent, yet arrogant BONEHEAD who drafted all of College Football's leader in throwing interceptions.
If it is to be continued mediocrity - at a time when nearly half the NFL makes the playoffs - all blame can be laid on Gutekunst who has destroyed what was a Super Bowl bound team of veterans and future NFL 1st ballot hall of famers and future Packers Hall of Fame inductees with his complete disrespect for beloved and loyal Packer veteran players who dedicated their life and physical and mental health to the Packers.
Packers are 22-1 (20-1 with Jordan, 2-0 with Malik) when the Packers quarterback neither throws an interception or fumbles. The 1 loss is the 2023-24 loss to the Falcons 25 to 24 when Jordan committed another BONEHEADED play - remember when Jordan attempted a quarterback sneak, BUT WITHOUT THE FOOTBALL!!!
The Packers are 7 wins 19 losses and 1 tie when Jordan throws one of his BONEHEADED interceptions - these are not ordinary interceptions where the quarterback's decision to throw the ball was correct or at least up for debate - or BONEHEADED fumbles.
Prediction: Packers win today if Jordan does not make a BONEHEAD play.
Oppy
December 07, 2025 at 12:45 pm
Why would you feel the need to say "If Jordan does not make a BONEHEAD play"?
He's got 3 int's on the season.
Sidenote, you'll find most teams, if not all teams, have higher totals in the WIN column when they run the ball at a higher percentage than they normally do. Running doesn't cause winning, playing from a significant lead usually causes a shift to running the ball more.
Context, it's a thing.

"Sidenote, you'll find most teams, if not all teams, have higher totals in the WIN column when they run the ball at a higher percentage than they normally do."
Oppy, regarding your comment above - SIMPLY NOT TRUE.
As just one of many examples, for the 2019-2020 season, (the first under Lafleur) the Packers dropped back to pass more than they ran the ball in 17 of their 18 games. - that is 94.4%!!
Of those 17 games where the Packers dropped back to pass more than the Packers ran the ball, the Packers won 13 and lost just 4 - that is a 76.4% winning percentage.
In only 1 game in the 2019-2020 season did the Packers run more than they dropped back to pass. That game was the divisional round playoff game against the Seahawks.
IN STARK CONTRAST In those 28 games to date where Jordan and the Packers dropped back to pass more than the Packers ran, the Packers record is 9 wins, 18 losses and 1 tie - that is a win percentage of just 33.8%.
The Packers -with Rodgers as quarterback - had plenty of seasons where the Packers passed more than they ran, yet had high winning percentages - not LOSING PERCENTAGES as is true now when Jordan and the Packers drop back to pass on more than 50% of the Packers offensive plays.
And plenty of NFL teams - with quarterbacks that are accurate and make good decisions - win consistently when they and their team pass more than they run.
Jordan however is not in that class.
Since Jordan Love became the Packers starting quarterback at the start of the 2023-24 season, the Packers have played 48 games. In addition to this Jordan started one game in 2021.
In those 49 games, the Packers dropped back to pass more than they ran the ball in 28 of those 49 games - that means the Packers passed more than they ran in JUST 57% of those games that Jordan has started.
In those 28 games where Jordan and the Packers dropped back to pass more than the Packers ran, the Packers record is 9 wins, 18 losses and 1 tie - that is a win percentage of just 33.8%.

Some teams choose to attack through the air. like the 49ers and Chiefs. Others like to keep it on the ground. ; like the Patriots, Bills, and Bears.
On these run v. pass stats, you should take into account the WR screens and passes to the RB that are essentially long handoffs, and should be considered runs.

Time to see what both teams are made of. Players and coaches need to stand up and show their mettle. Whatever the Bears are, they are winning and playing believing they will. Will LaFleur be able to demonstrate the same when the division is probably on the line?

Now....what do we have here?
So the Bears think they are somebody again?
This has happened 3 times in the last 17 years....lol
The Bears are 9-3 and feeling themselves, congratulations.
I have always said, you are what your record says you are.
Well......
The Bears wins are largely due to the #2 running game in the NFL, also their league leading +17 turnover ratio.
Caleb Williams is serviceable i guess.
*************
But here's the thing...they won 6 games by 5 points or less.
More importantly....
They are sitting at 9-3 with a +6 point differential.
Are you kidding me?
Most high level playoff teams are at, or above, 100+ point differential at the end of the season.
A +6 point diff. for a 9-3 team is almost laughable
(Credit to 13TimeChamp, as he follows this as i do.)
In closing....THE BEARS STILL SUCK.

There was a time when a player's progress was stopped and the play was over.

I know officials supposedly can’t be blamed for a win or loss. But when one team literally hasn’t had a call and the same calls the other team keeps being called there’s an issue. Banks facemask penalty then same defender grabs his facemask in the same play is beyond ridiculous. At this point let the players play and stop changing the momentum of the game. These calls are changing drives and momentum!

Idaho Cheese
December 07, 2025 at 06:56 pm
Whose man was it on the play action TD to Colston? Quay...where was he on the play? 15 yards down the line of scrimmage, watching the play. He may be faster than McDuffie; however, his first step (and a lot of time his second and third) is false. He is losing any speed due to his terrible instincts and inability to diagnose the play. Quay needs to get gone. I would rather have Cooper/McDuffie and Hopper as LBs with Colin Oliver, Johnson, and Parsons even as back-ups. Again, I don't know everything about football and that position, but I know what I see week to week with him. I am willing to change my mind, however, I haven't seen it, ever, from Quay. Als,o we can trade Rashan now; I was a huge fan of his coming out, but his ceiling has been reached.

December 07, 2025 at 06:41 pm
On the interception, the Packers defense did a great job of keeping Caleb from running for the first down -- especially as one would think that the QB would have rolled out to the right as he had done so successfully in this game.
Also on that play, the Packers D did a great job of defending the easier short pass.
The result was forcing Caleb to not only throw across his body, but to throw across his body and a little backward. That's an extremely difficult throw running at high speed.
Kudos to Keisean for the pick. One thing that can't be taken away from Nixon is that he is truly a competitor, truly a football player. He seems to play hard all the way to the end of the play, all the way to the end of the game, and today he pulled out a fantastic finish.
P.S. Has Nags abandoned us old-timers who like the printed word when it comes to his quick takes on the game? Couldn't he do both?

Another down to the wire bears game that's nerve wracking and great to watch when we win. Looking forward to seeing snap counts. I think Nate Hobbs was finally pulled over midway through the 2nd which was too late. Wicks played a snap early but was surprisingly absent after his big game last week. I bet its been over a year since Melton ran for a long ball and his catch percentage had been low, so nice to see him get a shot and win it On to Denver, GPG
