Loved the effort by the defense for the ENTIRE game. Bullard and Williams are just getting better and better.
Devonte Wyatt played very well today. If he can get going and KEEP it going, this defense is going to be that much tougher.
Not crazy about the game called by MLF, especially the 2nd half. BUT, the Packers won and they did so comfortably so I can't bitch too much!
GOD I hate the Bears!
Glad The Vikings drafted McCarthy!

I didn’t love the play calling, but it occurred to me MLF was coaching for the Lions game.Pure vanilla. Wilson had the game we all suspected he was capable of and he was utilized very well.

I could only watch the highlights, but the video showed 3x on 3rd down & 3/4 yards to go, MLF calls a run. 3x it fails. We had to settle for FGs. So frustrating that he doesn't fake the run and throw. He might be a good coach for some, but he's not a great coach. I seriously doubt he will take us to the Superbowl.

Ha—we wiped the smarta$$ smirk off of O’Connell’s face.
4 yrds in the 2nd half for the Vikings. Seems like Parsons is helping!
It’s hard to complain about beating a hated rival, but I cannot help scratching my head concerning LaFluer’s play calling. We had a couple chances to deploy the dagger and we settled for less.
Our special teams is tackling better.
Now go hammer the Lions.
Go Packers!!!

A game turned by the STs and won by the D. Thank goodness for the play of Wilson otherwise on the most cautious offensive game plan I can recall. The D showed that, if we get ahead, the pass rush awakens. The O called showed it had no intent to get us ahead if it required any ambition,

10-4 CW. I’ve been posting most of the week that if we could get a lead, the pass rush would come alive.
…and you’re absolutely right about special teams.

Yeah, the Packers won.
Yikes, this team is still unimpressive.
Yeah, the Defense looked good against a bottom-feeding Offense.
Yikes, this Offense needs help, and MLF can't seem to find it.

Outstanding defense!
Wasn't crazy about LaFluer's conservative offense, but with the defense that dominant, his game plan was understandable. I didn't see when Morgan swapped out and Belton came in, but Belton certainly helped the rushing attack. Early in the game it seemed the Packers mostly ran left behind Walker and Banks (who did well opening holes), but with Belton at RG, the Packers seemed to have success running right too. Wilson was excellent getting yards after contact.
The rushing attack pretty well nullified Flores' exotic blitzes and it was a good game for the Packers while Jacobs, Reed and Golden heal.

Parsons today joined Reggie White as only the second player to get at least 10 sacks in each of their first 5 seasons in the league.

Warning: You can get a stinger by running into a stationary Devonte Wyatt.
The Minnesota NFL franchise had -1 total yards on offense in the second half.
As you watched the NFL franchise from Minnesota play today, did you notice the alignment between the front office, head coach, coaching staff, coordinators and players? Did the synergy astound you? Did you see how QB whisperer KOC, with his creative mind and staff to challenge his mighty intellect, once again outcoached the mouth-breathing morons from Green Bay? Did you notice the superior talent, the proper and effective use of draft capital to fulfill needs waaaay ahead of when they became needs, and an elite training/conditioning staff? I must have missed all of that today. Imagine that!

Minnesota should have kept darnold and Mccarthy to observe, learn and grow, similar to what gb did ,they threw into the fire. They went 14- 3 last year with basically the same roster! I'm sure they regret not keeping darnold, He's playing well at seattle as well. Hopefully guttenshite realises he fucked upped the ol with the choices he made!

Since the Vikings elected to neuter the quarterback position in the off-season.... in this game, they might have been better served by handing it off more as they averaged 4.7yards per carry. But us stopping them twice in the red zone early on successive plays must have spooked them.
We didn't miss a beat with Wilson gaining over 100 yards, much of it after contact. Very impressive performance by him.
Also a couple of very impressive throws on third down by Love.
Great showing by the defense, an impact play on special teams, and mistake-free football--a rather easy time disposing of the Purple.

Good solid home win against a division rival. If the defense can maintain their current level of play the Packers can be a danger playoff team.
Still plenty of football before the playoffs. The offense still has room for improvement. Hopefully they will be hot for the playoffs. GPG! Thanks, Since ‘61

What spoiled my happiness of seeing Green Bay manhandle the Vikings was when the coverage switched to the Giants/Lions game. Horrible play calling at the end of the 4th quarter and not kicking an easy FG for the Giants handed the game to Detroit. Coaching negligence.
A handful of days for Green Bay to get ready and figure out the best way to contain Gibbs.
But back to the Packers. Winning a game they should win and not letting it look close. Excellent defensive play, very good Special Teams play, McManus looking like he's back to health, back up running backs looking very good (maybe some improved run blocking).

Living in a DET market, I had to Wayne and Larry the Packers and mute the Lions.
The Giants pass rush ran over the Lions' offensive line for most of that game. When the Lions ran at them, they had success. Goff got beat up. I'm guessing we'll see a similar game plan from the Packers.

November 23, 2025 at 04:07 pm
This game followed the script of several Vikings games: ineffective offense for MN. Defense keeps it from getting out of hand by forcing opponents to settle for kicking FG instead of scoring TD. Once the Packers went up two scores, the outcome never seemed to be in question.
1-0 this week.
That's the goal every week.
Tough game this week on Thanksgiving--I'll have to come off my deer stand to watch. The Lions tried to give their game away to the Giants but the Giants apparently didn't want it...but at least they made the Lions play a bunch of extra snaps. Suspect DET circled this game after week 1.
Bears sneak one out against the Steelers.

The Lions haven't looked nearly as strong this year as last year. Even if they circled this game after week one, the Packers have an excellent chance to come home with a win and put Detroit in a deep playoff hole.

Their secondary is still garbage and their OL took a significant step back. Their pass rush disappears for long stretches (sound familiar?). They're just not put together the same way.

Their OL is not what it was. That means Goff’s vulnerability is exposed more.

At least, as far as I know, no one was lost to injury other than Nixon. Hopefully that’s not a bad stinger. Hadden wasn’t a problem, but wasn’t obviously tested. Goff will be able to target him.
Wyatt looked more like himself. Stackhouse basically stopped a TD and left the Vikings pointless on our threshold. Brinson got his first sack. Some good signs on D. McDuffie was excellent, but his coverage was not really challenged. McManus looked back to health. When ahead, our rush is transformed.

" Hadden wasn’t a problem, but wasn’t obviously tested. "
That actually really surprised me. I expected--once Nixon went out--that they'd be attacking Hadden the rest of the way.

They only threw to one WR, Jefferson, almost literally I think. Valentine shadowed him all the rest of the afternoon. Certainly the other 2 had no catches but I don’t think Hadden was significantly responsible for that.

Emanuel Wilson is such an underrated player. Appreciate the effort he gives all the time. What a great game stepping up in the RB1 job.
The Vikes seem to be wasting WR talent with McCarthy at QB. Makes me so happy.
I complain about Matt's coaching at time, but the Giants today to not kick the FG to go up 6 with a couple of minutes left is next level idiocy.

That call was right out of the MLF playbook; Giants coach too will have no cogent explanation in the aftermath. A FG lead is nothing in the current NFL, where just getting past midfield puts a team in FG range. Would have been far smarter to take the points and force DET to score a TD. Too bad for the Packers.

Our defense is now the strength of this team. STs for once did nothing to hurt us.
I still do not like LaFleurs' play calling especially in the second half. WHY is every first down a running play? Why was every 3rd and short in the second half a running play? The man is SO PREDICTABLE! The score should have been far greater. I just don't get him. GPG

LaFleur’s offensive strategy was great. Vikings defense is bottom of the league against the run near the top against the pass. Their defense gets pressure on the quarterback too. Great strategy and execution by the Packers led to great win. GPG!

Love exacerbated his shoulder injury so MLF was correct to protect him and the lead. They have to play again in 4 days. Wilson was making progress.
Coldworld
November 23, 2025 at 11:03 pm
When did Love exacerbate his shoulder? If that was the case, since we barely asked him to pass in the second half, Willis should have been out there earlier. Love’s one run was actually in the second half too. Sorry, neither way makes Love’s handling wise if indeed you are correct.

November 23, 2025 at 11:47 pm
Love was handing off to Wilson with his right hand. Andy H asked him about it post-game.
It was surmised by Greg Olsen as well. Shoulder injury still hurting.
I also agree w/ Andy H that the game was already over by the time he was handing it off to Wilson and Wilson was succeeding. More important to just wind it down. I agree w/MLF on this one. Big game in 4 days-need to be smart.
Coldworld
November 23, 2025 at 11:56 pm
Not smart having your QB on if you aren’t going to do anything but vanilla and he’s that hurt then. It’s not as if Willis is incompetent. Love was handing off like that in the first half. In fact, since it is a change in the location of the ball and went smoothly, they likely practiced that all week. The advantage is there’s then no risk of a tug on the shoulder as the ball is exchanged.
The only reason that this wasn’t a dog fight was that after the ST play and Wilson’s second TD off it, the Vikings handed the ball to a running back exactly twice!
That’s what enabled our rush to go off on them. It was nothing LaFleur did. Wilson just kept is in the game largely singlehandedly. It was not our D till STs had changed the game. After that the D teed off and the offense was able tk get away with essentially nothing. Without the ST play they would have continued to run and run and were doing so at over 5 yards a carry.
