2022 Green Bay Packers Schedule
The Packers are featured in plenty of prime time games once again.

The Packers 2022 regular season schedule is set. Looks like 17-0 to me.
The schedule is highlighted by five prime-time contests (subject to flexible scheduling) on the original schedule for the ninth straight year (2014-22), seven games against 2021 playoff teams and five contests versus division winners from last year.
For the first time in franchise history, Green Bay will travel to London, where it will face off against the New York Giants in Week 5. The Packers return to the states to host the New York Jets in Week 6, marking the first time since 2010 that Green Bay plays both New York teams in the same season.
Green Bay will end the regular season with three of its last four at home for the first time since 2011.

I like this schedule. 20-0. Packers set the All-Time Record for Most Wins in an Undefeated Season, join the 1972 Dolphins Champagne popping, and bring the Lombardi Trophy home, where it belongs.

I can’t tell if you guys are making fun of off-season exuberance or serious. I see the last two Super Bowl winners, an AFC team that was a stupid OT rule away from going all the way, and the perennial pesky Vikings twice as always. Plenty of pushovers to be grateful for but there will be a few challenges.

I agree Rare, there will be challenges at some point and it just seems a little daunting to get 13+ wins again for the 4 season in a row. We will see but it will be a super exciting season however it unfolds.
I am not so concerned about wrapping up the #1 seed as I am hoping we are peaking at the right time and most/if not all injuries are minor.

I hate opening the season vs division teams.
the league needs to do better in scheduling.
division games are soooo important, why play them when teams are still getting settled?

Well, we will be playing a Division Rival, so we should be more prepared, if only because we have more knowledge of their players. They do have a new HC and system, but I'm hoping that bodes well for us.

Because the league is driven by income.
Who is the average fan more excited to see for the season opening kick off? Your home time entwined in a heated division rivalry game with 50 years of history behind it? Or the home team playing some random team from the other division who they won't play again for years?
Opening week scheduling will always be driven by division rivalries and last year's storylines (rematch of a tightly contested playoff game, etc) because there's no other narrative when everyone is 0-0.
It's not about what's best for your team, it's about what's best for marketing.

I’ve never understood the bye week system. Of the infinite options they could go with this seems like it’s the only one that’s not worse than no bye weeks. Look we’ve got like four games over the top of each other Sunday at noon then two games at the same time in the afternoon. One week you cut it down to a single game at each time slot and boom you’ve got eight teams resting. Do that for four consecutive weeks right in the middle of the season and you’ve got everyone having a bye roughly at the same time. Or heck idk, maybe just take a week off for everyone? The season is sooo short as it is I think we can afford to stretch it a little bit.

Idk that that is a bad thing. I always like to see the bye later in the season. Get a rest up before the final push. I’d still much rather see everyone get a bye week right in the middle of the season though, the current system is ridiculous.

Reghammer and Rare, you two are closer to reality than you might think. :D Thanks for the levity...like many, some of my really cool moments growing up are my siblings and mom & pop watching the Packers on Sunday. My folks have passed but the common thread I can always pull is the Packers and the link to mom & pops...that, is worth more than anything to me.

I bet dollars to donuts that if the League did a study about injuries and the best time for teams to have a bye week, the average would fall somewhere in mid November. I don't know how much revenue would be lost if all bye weeks were scheduled in November, but the intuition would point that it work work out. So why a bye in the second week of December?

All the games would be slated as rivalry games and be a cool event for the league and give a little more fairness to the byes.
Due to fantasy football that is unlikely to happen. GPG

I see this, at the moment, as 12-5 season for Packers, that may pan out as 13-4 or 14-3. Basically, we all knows that Packers lay egg at least 2 times per season plus 3 hard games that may finish as losses.
I do not understand the argument how 1st games should not be divisional. Those games are also first for your opponents, so situation is similar - I'm joking. We all knows Aaron Rodgers treats first few weeks as preseason games as he is to good to play in preseason. That is what makes advantage to the opponents. Not the schedule.

In the seasons that Rodgers has not played in the preseason the Packers have gone 13-3 and they have been the #1 seed. Not to mention that Rodgers has been the league MVP for the last 2 consecutive seasons. So I would like to see an argument which says that playing during the preseason helps Rodgers to play better or helps the team achieve a better record. If someone can make that case based on facts, not speculation. BTW most starters have not played during the preseason since MLF became the Packers HC.

croat - no team in any sport wins anything if they win their first game of the season. In the NFL division titles are won in November and December. I would also point out that in 2020 the Packers won their first game of the season and Rodgers did not play during the preseason then either. Besides, when you lose 38-3 it's a team effort just like when you win38-3 it's a team effort.
Also, you don't seem to mention the fact that MLF holds his starters out of all the preseason games since he has been the HC. This is an approach I agree with because of the injury factor. I also do not believe that 20-30 snaps the starters would play over 3 preseason games makes a difference to veteran players but it does risk losing them for the season and hurting the team's chances when the games count.
Try to look at it from the player's point of view, especially players in a contract year. Why should they risk their next contract, possibly their biggest in their career, in a meaningless preseason game? To fulfill a fantasy that it will make them more prepared for the season. Remember the players are not paid for the preseason. Preseason games only line the pockets of the team owners. So if I'm a veteran player why would I risk not only my career but possibly a permanent injury to line the owner's pockets? that is not a good business decision for any player.
The answer is reduce the preseason games down to two and allow the teams to have more practice time to work on timing and blocking and tackling. However, it won't happen because the owners don't make any money on practices.
I'm sorry to say but over the last 3-4 seasons your myopic hatred for Aaron Rodgers has skewed your view of watching the games to the point where you are only focused on whatever negatives appear in Rodger's play even when the Packers win the game.
You have become consistently focused on the negative rather than on the positive achievements of the team. Such as 13-3 for three seasons in a row, an improving defense, the #1 seed in the NFC and yes, in spite of not playing during the preseason season, Rodgers has been the league MVP for 2 consecutive seasons.
For me, I try to stay focused on the positive. I've been around sports long enough to know that there is a really good chance I will never see another QB play like Aaron Rodgers again, especially given the fact that I'm not getting any younger and I still haven't found the rewind button. I've been very fortunate. I watched the Lombardi Packers and their worthy opponents like Johnny Unitas, Gale Sayers, Dick Butkus, 3 in a row NFL championships, the Ice Bowl, Joe Montana and the 49ers, and Dan Marino. The great James Lofton, the Wolf/Holmgren Packers with Brett Favre and Reggie White and now since 2008 Aaron Rodgers. I could go on and on and that's just for the NFL. In MLB baseball I watched Mickey Mantle and all the great NY Yankee teams over the decades.
My point is appreciate what and who you're watching. It could be a once in a lifetime opportunity and once it's done it's not likely to happen again. I've never seen another team as good as the Lombardi Packers. Forget the Patriots, equalize the size of speed difference between the 2 eras and the Lombardi Packers destroy the Patriots.
I Have yet to see a better baseball player than Mickey Mantle. And I have yet to see a better racehorse than the immortal Secretariat.
For the sake of Packers fans I hope I'm wrong but I don't think we're going to see another QB like Rodgers come the Packers way for a long, long time once he retires. He has given us many, many more good days than bad.

I guessed 11-6 last season and until we see some OL play and its ability to support an offense that will need to be better and more efficient in the run game, I'm reluctant to say more than 11 wins this season.
I will be happy to have taken the under on that.

What better way for Christian Watson to be unleashed on the NFL than by starting with the Vikings, the team that made the trade, that allowed the Packers to get him. It will be EPIC!!! Cant forget the other 3 Ws though Walker, Wyatt and Doubs, see what I did there.
Yes GB tends to start slow so that doesnt inspire great confidence until you realize they will face a Vikings team with new coaches and coordinators all around. An offensive coaching staff from the Sean McVay tree with Mike Pettine coaching the defense, sound familiar? (They say if you can't beat them, try to be them). GB should know their offense and defense pretty well and since they're already familiar with most of their players, I think that's advantage Packers.
I won't comment on the rest of the games because it's 1 game at a time, go 1-0 every week and they will be golden.

The biggest challenges the Packers face from their schedule are the limited number of recovery days . They seem to have about the worst schedule in the league in that regard . I think they benefit from the late bye and they certainly benefit from the relatively easy ( 11th easiest apparently ) schedule especially considering their # 1 status for the playoffs last year. I think they will lose to Tampa Bay and Buffalo in away games and probably at least one other game or maybe even two when Rodgers is possibly hurt etc. So my guess is another 14 - 3 or 13 - 4 season depending on Rodgers health. He is getting older but the O lIne should be even better and MLF and Rodgers usually game plan around who is available on the O line . More regular starters and more deep balls and more replacements on the line means shorter passes and more rushing offense . The Packers are still far above the other teams in their division and should make the playoffs barring a major Rodgers injury which alas is always possible . GPG

Wouldn't mind seeing Watson catch a couple big throws, but I'd love to see the Packers set the tone for the season by churning out about 225 rushing yards against the Vikes, and silence the fans and that damn horn with a 3 TD lead in the first half.

In his career as head coach, LaFleur and the Packers have scored 100 points in three games at Minnesota. We'll smash the Purple and rip out their hearts and that'll be the beginning of a season in hell for them. Good.
Here's the thing: When we go 3 WR, you have to cover with 5 guys or take a really big risk. That only leaves six guys to play the run, and including Lewis, we've got 6 guys blocking. By my math, 6 +Dillon/Jones >6 defenders.
That's bad math for the defense, but still better than just letting Rodgers riddle you with completions, IMO. It's probably better to give up yards on the ground than big plays through the air.

The overwhelming desire & preference to talk about the Packers 3 rd & 4th Safeties, their 4th, 5th & 6th CBs, their 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th WRs, their #3 C, their 3rd & 4th OTs… their #3 RB… their 4th TE… INSTEAD, says a lot about how STACKED this 2022 GB team TRULY appears to be.
The Packers have given AR extremely talents weapons to throw to.
The Packers have loaded the OL with quality players to improve overall depth and continuity.
The Packers LOADED their defense at the interior, where it WAS susceptible, leaving no weaknesses to exploit, anywhere.
The Packers hired the best STs coach in the NFL to round out the overhaul.
FREAKING BRING IT, MAN!
There’s not one team I fear on this schedule. I love how the media has Tampa Bay and KC already in the Super Bowl. That’ll change after we punch Tom Brady in his pretty face. Bill Belichick will be heaping praise on the Packers as a nice send off to London to PUMMEL the Giants.
From there, all the new players gain familiarity & confidence in their roles, and this train starts rollin’ hard. Every game will be a test. I think, if we can stay healthy, and AR is getting his arm in shape for the long ball, we’re going to be formidable. DOMINANT. Every week. ALL THE WAY.
*OK, I’m done with my rant. Can we PLEASE talk about a Guard..??? Anything…

I welcome the opportunity to go out and be one of the top teams in the NFC, to win the division, to peak in the playoffs and win it all. Absolutely.
I think The Plan is use Rodgers, Jones, Dillon. and a host of receivers to control the ball and eat the clock. We were #1 in the league last year, and I think we'll be better this year. The best thing you can do for your defense is keep it on the sidelines, and we're good at that, and it's going to be our formula for winning games and keeping our QB healthy all season.
Sometimes, it might not be very pretty, and we'll hear the predictable chorus for needing a playmaker on offense, but this is a winning strategy. We're playing rookies, so there might be some problems there, but this is a pretty strong team, top to bottom.

This schedule proves how ridiculous the NFL scheduling system is. The Packers are losing a home game to go play in Europe and then they don’t have their bye week until week 14. That is just crazy. 13 consecutive games could decimate any team.
First the league should have added a second bye week when they went to a 17 game schedule. Then they should have eliminated a preseason game and added more practices during the preseason. This would enable the league to start the season a week earlier to account for the second bye week.
Instead they have added long distance travel, sacrificed a home game and have an idiotic 13 consecutive games without a bye. This is unfair to any team and totally unnecessary. All for league money grabs.
Stupid! And I don’t do stupid especially when it’s unnecessary. The league has gone way beyond putting money before the players and greed before thinking, assuming that they think at all.
As for the Packers, as usual, I will reserve my prediction until the end of TC when I know who will actually be playing when the season starts. Thanks, Since ‘61

Reports are that the league offered a bye to the Packers for the week after the London trip (apparently that's standard practice) and the Packers turned that down in favor of a later bye week.

I get your point. I mean, I'm biased because I just don't like these overseas games, but if they are going to play one, then the league needs to do something with the schedule to give you a little relief.
I kind of like triumphing despite unfairness. It just adds that special sauce that makes it tastier than the normal stuff. Go ahead and handicap us, if that's what you think it's going to take to make it fair.

I did some research on the Cowboys.
They won at Lambeau in 2016, and 2008. That’s it, for the last 30 years or so. Meanwhile, we have beaten them like a rented mule when they are the visitors, and we’ve beaten them in Dallas, and we’ve beaten them in the playoffs.
The last time Dallas was actually better than the Packers, Bill Clinton was President.
