Browns LB D'Qwell Jackson Signs RFA Tender

Cleveland Browns restricted free agent linebacker D'Qwell Jackson has signed his one-year tender, Mary Kay-Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports.
Jackson was tendered at the "Second Round" level, and will earn a $1.759 million dollar base salary this season. The Browns had sent a letter to Jackson, indicating that had he not signed the tender, they would reduce the amount of his tender to 110% of his 2009 base salary, which would have cost Jackson $1.055 million dollars in 2010.
A second-round pick (34th overall) out of Maryland in 2006, Jackson has started 48 of 49 career games, totaling 407 tackles, 3 quarterback sacks, 4 interceptions, and 11 passes defensed. Jackson's top season came in 2008, where he led the Browns in tackles for a second consecutive season with 154, and set career-highs with two quarterback sacks and 3 interceptions.
A shoulder injury ended Jackson's 2009 season after six games.
Jackson is expected to start at right inside linebacker for the Browns this season.
