Texans TE Owen Daniels Signs RFA Tender

Houston Texans restricted free agent tight end Owen Daniels has signed his one-year tender, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Daniels is recovering from a torn ACL and is expected to miss most, if not all, of training camp.

A fourth-round pick (98th overall) out of Wisconsin in 2006, Daniels has 207 receptions for 2,501 yards and 15 touchdowns over the last four seasons, earning Pro Bowl honors and the 2008 season.

Playing under the restricted free agent tender in 2009, Daniels was headed towards career season before his knee injury, hauling in 40 passes for 519 yards and four touchdowns in just over 7 games.

Daniels would prefer to sign a long-term extension, but under the one-year tender, Daniels will earn a base salary of $3.168 million dollars this season.
