Carolina Panthers safety Chris Harris announced on Twitter that he's being traded to the Chicago Bears.

"Breaking News- I will be traded to Chicago Bears. Carolina u have been great and deeply missed. I have a special place in my heart for you", Harris posted early Tuesday afternoon.

A sixth-round pick by the Bears in 2005, Harris has started all 44 of his games since he was traded to the Panthers in 2007 in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. Harris has totaled 226 tackles, 5 interceptions, and 14 passes defensed for the Panthers

Harris tells Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune that the trade is not official, but will be soon, and that a veteran linebacker may be headed from the Bears to the Panthers.
