Seahawks Select Oklahoma State OT Russell Okung

The Seattle Seahawks have chosen Oklahoma State offensive tackle Russell Okung with the sixth overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Okung (6-5, 307) will start immediately at left tackle on the Seahawks' offensive line, replacing future Hall of Famer Walter Jones. Aiding Okung's development will be left guard Ben Hamilton, who was signed to a one-year deal earlier this week.

Okung played in 52 games, including 47 starts, for the Cowboys. Okung initially started at right tackle, but moved to left tackle, where he started the final 39 games of his college career. Okung was a two-time first-time All-Big 12 selection, and was an Outland Trophy finalist in 2009.
