ESPN to Pay Nearly $2B For MNF Broadcast Rights
By admin
ESPN and the National Football League have agreed to broad terms on an extension for the rights to broadcast Monday Night Football, John Ourand of SportsBusiness Daily reports.
According to Ourand, ESPN will pay between $1.8-$1.9 billion annually for the rights to broadcast Monday Night Football, and perhaps at least one Wild Card Playoff game, for a period of nine or ten seasons.
ESPN currently does not have the rights to broadcast a post-season game, and neither ESPN nor ABC are in the rotation of networks that broadcast the Super Bowl.
The Worldwide Leader in Sports will also maintain rights to the annual NFL Draft.
