According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Green Bay Packers center Evan Dietrich-Smith has signed his one-year restricted free-agent tender.

Dietrich-Smith was tendered at the original-round level in early March, which meant a one-year salary of just $1.323 million next salary but also zero compensation should another team sign the 26-year-old to an offer sheet the Packers don't match. Dietrich-Smith entered the NFL as an unrestricted free agent out of Idaho State in 2009.

A valuable backup at all three interior line positions for most of the last two seasons, Dietrich-Smith emerged as the Packers starter at center in Week 16 of 2012. He started each of the final four games, including Green Bay's two playoff games.

According to Pro Football Focus, Dietrich-Smith allowed three quarterback disruptions (one hit, two hurries) after taking over the starting duties. For now, he's penciled in as the offense's opening day starter at center.
