Was there an official account of what happened published anywhere? To me it sounded like he took a bike out into a cul de sac and wiped out doing a wheelie. Stupid, but not an acd that endangers anyone else's life.

I may be more sensitive to this issue because my dad was killed by a drunk driver; but I think Havner should be held to a higher standard than, say, the average Packers fan. The guy is being paid a lot of money to play football; he has a (contractual?) responsibility to eschew risky behaviors like driving under the influence. I'm not saying he should be put into a stockade on Oneida Street, but Ted Thompson ought to at least fine him.
