Vikings, Jets, Chargers, Cardinals Inquire About Houshmandzadeh

Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, San Diego Chargers, and Arizona Cardinals have made offers to acquire wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh from the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks have been seeking to trade the 32-year old wide receiver, but his $7 million guaranteed base salary are believed to make that difficult. The Seahawks have informed Houshmandzadeh that if they cannot trade him, they will release him.

Houshmanzadeh signed a five-year, $40 million contract with the Seahawks last March. That deal included $15 million in guaranteed money, mostly in the form of base salaries. In his first season with the Seahawks, Houshmandzadeh caught 79 passes for 911 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Former Detroit Lions first-round pick Mike Williams is expected to start opposite Deion Branch when the Seahawks open the 2010 regular season against the San Francisco 49ers on September 12.
