Trevor Pryce Reportedly Signs With the Jets

According to Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, his former teammate defensive end Trevor Pryce has signed with the New York Jets.

"kinda sad 2day. my boy trevor pryce signed wit the JETS!!!!!" Suggs posted to his Twitter timeline. "happy for him but would rather he be on my team!!!!! "

Pryce, 35, was released by the Ravens on Wednesday so the team could re-sign safety Ken Hamlin. The Ravens expressed the intent to re-sign Pryce at some point this season, but the Jets have reportedly eliminated that option.

A former first-round pick by the Denver Broncos in 1997, the 6-5, 290-pound Pryce has 90 career quarterback sacks, including a team-high 6.5 for the Ravens in 2009.

By signing with the Jets, Pryce reunites with Rex Ryan, who was the Ravens' defensive coordinator when Pryce signed with Baltimore as an unrestricted free agent in 2006. Pryce had a career-high 47 tackles and 13 quarterbacks sacks that season.

Part of Pryce's release stemmed from a lack of production this season, but he will add depth to a defensive line that has lost Ripoti Pitoitua and Kris Jenkins to season-ending injuries.
