Toby Gerhart to Get Plenty of Work at Mini-Camp

Stanford University operates on the quarters system, which has kept Minnesota Vikings running back Toby Gerhart from participating in the team's "Organized Team Activity" sessions this off-season.

With his finals in his rear-view mirror, Gerhart touched down in the Twin Cities this morning and will participate in the team's mini-camp this weekend. All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson will miss the beginning of mini-camp, so Gerhart will have an opportunity to play catch-up, Mike Wobschall of Vikings.com reports.

"Oh yeah, I think so. (running backs) Coach (Eric) Bieniemy and I are meeting quite a bit right now and he’s doing a great job of getting me up to speed," Gerhart said. " It’ll take a lot of work and I know it won’t all happen fast, but there’s a great offensive staff here and I’m looking forward to diving right in and learning as much as I can."
