The Tennessee Titans have placed starting center Eugene Amano on season-ending injured reserve.

Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean reports that Amano has been suffering from stingers, including one sustained during the Titans' 30-28 loss to the Indianapolis Colts last Thursday night. He was replaced by Fernando Velasco, who is expected to handle the starting duties for the remainder of the season.

To replace Amano on the 53-man roster, FOXSports.com's Adam Caplan reports the Titans have signed rookie defensive tackle Malcolm Sheppard off the Houston Texans' practice squad.

The Titans host the Texans on Sunday.
