The Houston Texans have placed rookie safety Torri Williams on injured reserve, Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com reports.

An undrafted rookie free agent from Purdue, Williams (6-2, 208) was signed off the Texans' practice squad in Week 10, and made his NFL debut in Sunday's 20-0 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Williams injured his hamstring on Sunday, and was unable to practice this week.

Rookie guard Shelley Smith has been signed off the practice squad to replace Williams on the 53-man roster.
